PC gamers almost always have a tendency to “min-max” their rig’s performance, especially if it’s falling behind in terms of hardware capabilities. Being one of the candidates to partake in this graphic settings optimization settings, I’ll gladly show you the best graphics settings in No Rest for the Wicked.
Best Graphic Settings for No Rest for the Wicked (Visual Quality)
For high-end PCs, I’ve tried this on our test machine:
- Resolution: Choose the native resolution of your monitor.
- Display Mode: Full Screen Window
- VSync: ON if you experience screen tearing.
- Framerate Cap: Set it at the limit of your monitor’s refresh rate or higher.
General Settings
- Quality Presets: Best Quality
- Render Scale: 100% or higher, depending on how much your PC can take.
- Sharpness: 200%
- Motion Blur: OFF
- Dynamic Resolution Scaling: On
- Target FPS: Your monitor’s max refresh rate.
- Maximum X Scaling: 100%
- Maximum Y Scaling: 100%
The game was pretty, and I had no performance issues.
Best Graphic Settings for No Rest for the Wicked (Performance/FPS)
If you are using an older PC at home like mine, some compromises need to be made. Below, I’ll list the minimum system requirements for PCs as well for comparison.
- Resolution: Native resolution of your monitor, or one step below (ie. 1280×720 if you have a 1920×1080 monitor, but this should be an extreme measure).
- Display Mode: Fullscreen Exclusive (this is known to marginally increase the performance).
- VSync: ON if you have screen tearing.
- Framerate Cap: Honestly, push it to the limit of your monitor’s refresh rate. If you must, drop it to 30 FPS. It’s a legitimate way to play video games.
General Settings
- Quality Presets: Let’s start with “Performance” and then we’ll tune it down.
- Render Scale: You’ll probably need to lower this down to 80% or maybe even less.
- Sharpness: I say don’t keep it under 100% just for the sake of visuals.
- Motion Blur: OFF
- Dynamic Resolution Scaling: ON
- Target FPS: Same as in the above FPS dialogue. Use your monitor’s refresh rate, or in the worst-case scenario, 30 FPS.
- Maximum X Scaling: Keep this at 50% to try and reduce the impact of sudden FPS drops.
- Maximum Y Scaling: Keep this at 50% to try and reduce the impact of sudden FPS drops.
