Best Team Composition in Octopath Traveler 2

Main Healer: Temenos Mistral

  • Primary Job: Cleric
  • Recommended Secondary Job: Scholar

No party should go into the foray without bringing along the best possible healer, which in this case is Temenos.

He is not only a solid healer but also an excellent team buffer, using his Sacred Shield and Prayer to the Flame abilities. You can even push HP of your allies above their standard gauge with the Prayer for Plenty skill.

Temenos also possesses strong debuffs, such as Moonlight Judgement that makes enemies much weaker during nighttime, and his Latent Power can easily break up enemy shields.

Arguably there are better healers in the game, but for this specific team you will need Temenos, as he synergizes strongly with Throne. Together they make up the most powerful duet in Octopath Traveler 2.

Main Debuffer: Throne Anguis

  • Primary Job: Thief
  • Recommended Secondary Job: Dancer

Throne is the best debuffer in the game. She can drain HP from your enemies, and she has a fantastic synergy with Temenos. Combine her own Life in the Shadows skill with Temenos’ Moonlight Judgement, and turn your nighttime gameplay into a real breeze.

Throne is fast, mobile, and can act twice in a single turn. Use her Veil of Darkness skill to deal dark damage, and Surprise Attack to deal extra damage. You can also use Armor Corrosive to weaken your enemies, and apply Blessing of Darkness to strengthen your allies.

Main Attacker: Hikari Ku

  • Primary Job: Warrior
  • Recommended Secondary Job: Armsmaster

Hikari, being an excellent physical attacker, will benefit greatly from the support of both Temenos and Throne.

He is not only a DPS character, but also a solid tank when using his Incite skill. If you need to counterattack, then use his Vengeful Blade ability, and if you need to finish off the broken enemy, then go for Brand’s Blade. But his two best and most powerful attack skills are Shinjumonjigiri and Deal More Damage.

Players may also consider Osvald Vanstein, as an alternative to Hikari, if you want to focus more on elemental attacks rather than physical.

Main Buffer: Agnea Bristani

  • Primary Job: Dancer
  • Recommended Secondary Job: Inventor

Agnea is the last member of your team, who focuses on buffing Hikari’s attacks with such skills like Lion Dance and Peacock Strut.

She can also remove various negative status effects from allies with the help of her All Together Now skill, and give the initiative of turns back to her team using the Stimulate ability.

Finally, use her Song of Hope skill to extend the buff and debuff effects of Throne, which will last longer in that case.
