Palworld Failed to Host Multiplayer Session Error Fix: Stuck on CreateSession Delegate

Many players are getting the "Failed to host multiplayer session" error due to server load.

Launch is going better than anyone could have expected. Players are flocking to Pocketpair’s creator-collecting game. With servers flooded, there are a few issues. Here, I’ll tell you what I know about the “Failed to host multiplayer session” fix for Palworld.

How to Fix Failed to Host Multiplayer Session Error (OnCreateSessionCompleteDelegate False) in Palworld

This Palworld error comes in two flavors. The simple “Failed to host multiplayer session” prompt, and the “OnCreateSessionCompleteDelegate bWasSuccessful == false” prompt. Both errors read differently, but they mean the same thing: you can’t make a multiplayer world now.

The Palworld servers are currently overwhelmed by the massive player interest between Steam and Game Pass players alike, and this error hits both sets on both PC and Xbox platforms.

Developer Pocketpair has acknowledged the issue in the game’s official Discord server. They recommend players make a multiplayer world two or three times or wait a while after launching the game before putting a server up. All we can do is wait for the servers to stabilize and potentially for Pocketpair to purchase more server space to accommodate the influx of players.

If you’re fine with playing in single-player for now but started with a multiplayer world, you can change your multiplayer world into a single-player one. Here’s how to do just that.

How to Check Palworld Server Status

Luckily, there’s an official Palworld server status page for you to check out. At the time of writing, the servers show a 100% uptime, but there’s a message stating that the “system capacity of the external vendor appears to be exceeded,” and that they’re investigating the problem.

It seems Pocketpair needs to upgrade server capacities, as there are over 300,000 people in Palworld on Steam right now and even more with Game Pass players included.

That’s all we know for now about how to fix the “Failed to host multiplayer session” error in Palworld, also known as “OnCreateSessionCompleteDelegate bWasSuccessful == false.” All we can do is wait to see what the developers can do to fix this issue. For now, you might be better off connecting to an official server. Once you’re in, check out some of our Palworld guides, such as how to get wood faster and how to get leather.
