Palworld Lockpicking Guide: How to Lockpick Treasure Chests

The Sakurajima update in Palworld brought many new features to the game. One of those features is the ability to lockpick treasure chests so you can open them without a key. Here’s a Palworld lockpicking guide that explains how to craft lockpicks and use them to lockpick treasure chests.

How to Craft Lockpicks in Palworld

You can craft three different tiers of Palworld lockpicking tools using the High-Quality Workbench, which will unlock specific tiers of treasure chests. Here’s how to craft a Lockpicking Tool in Palworld:

1. Head to an Assembly Line or Workbench.
2. Press the Recipe button.
3. Select which Lockpick Tier you want to make.
4. Click the Start Production button.
5. Select the Start Work button.
6. Use the Acquire button to obtain your Lockpick.

The table below shows the Ancient Technology recipe, the three tiers, and the materials needed to craft them.

How to Lockpick Treasure Chests in Palworld

One of the main benefits of the Palworld lockpicking update is how easy it is to craft Lockpicking Tools to unlock Treasure Chests instead of farming keys. In addition, Lockpicking Tools count as Keys, which means they won’t take up inventory space.

Here’s how to complete the Palworld lockpicking mini-game:

1. Craft a Lockpick using the instructions above.
2. Approach a locked treasure chest.
3. Press the Lockpick button.
   • PC: V key
   • Xbox: Y button
4. Align the pick at the correct angle and turn the lock. Then, determine the proper angle by observing the reaction as you turn the lock. You can pick the treasure chest lock as many times as needed.

Three different tiers of lockpicks will unlock specific tiers of treasure chests shown in the table below.
