Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare: Peashooter Guide

Need to know how to use the Pea Shooter effectively? This guide will teach you everything you need to know.
This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

The Peashooter is the assault Plant in Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare. They are more than your typical run and gun class, though. They are the only Plants that can leap on top of roofs. This makes them good for sniping, even if the Cactus is the sniper of the team.

The Peashooter is one of the most classic plants from the original Plants vs Zombies, so it is no surprise that many people use them. It’s ease and maneuverability also make it a popular choice. I’ll explain how to use the Peashooter to its full potential, and how to take out each zombie.

Check out my Peashooter Variants Guide for details on each class variant.

If you want another class/guide instead, visit my Master Guide List.

This guide will cover everything about the Peashooter including:

  • Basic Combat Tips – Things that give you an edge in battle.
  • Class Abilities – Each ability for Peashooter, and what they do.
  • Class Matchups – What to do against each Zombie.

Basic Combat Tips – Getting the most out of your Peashooter

Peashooters like to shoot and move fast. If you like to play a plant that’s constantly on the front lines, it would be this one. They shoot peas that do decent damage. Their abilities are: Chili Bean Bomb, Pea Gatling, and Hyper.

  • Chili Bean Bomb – Basically a grenade that does massive damage. It doesn’t go very far and has a short fuse. NPC Zombies will try to eat it.
  • Pea Gatling – Rooted machine gun, the name says it all. Shoots very fast, but must stay rooted and cannot move during. You can still turn, though.
  • Hyper – Makes you run very fast and jump incredibly high.

These abilities make the Peashooter great for beginners, or people who just want to mow down enemies.

  • Make good use of Hyper. This is how you get on roofs. It is also helpful for moving around enemies and staying out of danger.
  • A well placed Chili Bean Bomb can devastate a team. If you see a group of enemies, drop the bomb and watch the zombies fly.
  • The Pea Gatling lasts a while and can get you a bunch of kills in a short amount of time. Just be careful when and where you use it! Use it with a good view of the enemy, but not in a vulnerable spot. You want to use it for the full duration.

Class Matchups – How to take down those rude Zombies

Soldier
  • The Soldier Zombie is the nemesis of the Peashooter. They have a similar play style and the only Zombie that can get on roofs.
  • Be on the lookout for Soldier on top of buildings. Taking them out is priority and a huge help to the team.
  • When fighting Soldiers, never stand still. They shoot fast and have a rocket launcher. Getting hit by these is ensures death.
Engineer
  • Engineers are really annoying. They move quickly, have grenade launchers, and send out drones.
  • Their Zombot Drones do some serious damage when left unchecked. Check the skies constantly and take them out immediately.
Scientist
  • Scientists are the healers for the zombies and pack shotguns.
  • Staying on roofs make them easy targets, but be sure not to get hit by their sticky grenades.
  • Take out their healing stations when you see them.
All-Star
  • These zombies are tough. They have a lot of health, place shields and have a devastating tackle attack.
  • Never get too close to an All-Star, or they send you flying with their tackle. Most of time it kills you. They also send imps that explode.
  • Engaging them from rooftops and far distances is best.

That wraps up the Peashooter. If you have any questions, or suggestions about this class, then let me know in the comments!
