Eevee is a fan favorite with multiple evolutions depending on the circumstances. With all Eeveelutions in Pokemon GO — just not the same items or places — it can be a bit difficult to get the evolution you want. Here’s how to get all of them in Pokemon GO.
How to Evolve Eevee in Pokemon GO
Eevee currently has eight different evolutions it can transform into. To start evolving your Eevee, you’ll need at least 25 Eevee Candy. You can just evolve Eevee and get a random evolution, or you can follow these simple steps to get the evolution you want.

Nicknames
The first time you try to evolve Eevee, you can use the Nickname trick to get the evolution you want. This will only work the first time you pick a specific nickname. Change the name of your Eevee to the nickname that matches the evolution you want.
- Vaporeon: Rainer
- Jolteon: Sparky
- Flareon: Pyro
- Espeon: Sakura
- Umbreon: Tamao
- Leafeon: Linnea
- Glaceon: Rea
- Sylveon: Kira
Other Ways to Evolve Eevee
The nickname method is the only way to guarantee getting a Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Flareon Eeveelution. The rest of the Eeveelutions have another method that you can use if you’ve already gotten them through nickname evolutions.
- Espeon: As your buddy, walk 10km and then evolve during the day. Eevee must remain your buddy when you evolve it.
- Umbreon: As your buddy, walk 10km and then evolve during the night. Eevee must remain your buddy when you evolve it.
- Glaceon: Use a Glacial Lure Module while evolving Eevee.
- Leafeon: Use a Mossy Lure Module while evolving Eevee.
- Sylveon: Earn 70 Hearts with Eevee as your Buddy.
