Playing as a marine might seem fairly straightforward  shoot and run, right? Well, the soldiers themselves actually have a few tricks up their sleeves to help keep them stay alive longer than you might think.

One of these methods is a quick parry, which blocks a Predator’s melee attacks. When you’re casually strolling along, only to be met face first with a Predator’s blade, it might seem as though survival is impossible. Yet, this simple and effective trick can help turn the tide in your favor.

How to Parry the Predator in Predator Hunting Grounds

There’s probably a plethora of times you’ve met your demise after facing the seemingly unblockable melee attacks of a Predator in Predator Hunting Grounds. When faced with him viciously thrusting away with their powerful blades, it can all seem futile.

However, utilizing the block mechanic is useful, and it’s a tool that can consistently mean the difference between life and death.

When to Parry in Predator Hunting Grounds

The parry in Predator Hunting Grounds takes a lot of resilience and quick action. As the Predator swipes with their blade, you will have a quick second to block. A prompt actually appears on the screen, but it’s such a split-second decision that it’s entirely possible not to see which button to press before you miss it completely.

To parry, press the melee button at the exact moment the Predator strikes. You will bring up your melee weapon at the exact moment and block their powerful attack. It’s an extremely quick maneuver and will undoubtedly take a bit of trial and error.

If successful, you will hear the metal of the Predator’s blades clink, and they will step back, staggered and unable to continue attacking you. This gives you a few precious seconds to perform one of two actions:

  1. You can either make like the wind and get out of there
  2. You and your team can unleash a sea of bullets directly into their face in an attempt to incapacitate them

This type of back-and-forth combat can make for some exhilarating encounters that require some tactical thought. So, while it’s a tricky method to get behind, with practice and perseverance, you’ll be able to knock back Predators left, right, and center.

And that’s it on how to parry and turn the tide of the fight when it comes down to hand-to-hand combat. Looking for more tricks and tips? Be sure to check out the other Predator Hunting Grounds guides available here.
