Prosecutor Auto Rifle PvE and PvP God Rolls in Destiny 2

The Prosecutor Auto Rifle is one of the best weapons to return to Destiny 2 in a while. WIth the PvE and PvP god roll, it's a monster.

The Prophecy Dungeon in Destiny 2 recently got a loot refresh, and now the Prosecutor Auto Rifle, one of its best weapons, is even better. On its own, it can hang with many of the better Auto Rifles in the game, but with a god roll, the Prosecutor is easily one of the top PvE and PvP options in its class.

The Prosecutor PvE God Roll

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake, Corkscrew Rifling
  • Magazine: Ricochet Rounds, Light Mag
  • Trait 1: Keep Away, Dragonfly
  • Trait 2: Voltshot, Target Lock, Golden Tricorn

There are some solid PvE god roll options for the Prosecutor, with its Arc element being one of the only aspects holding it back. With the right perks, however, you can turn the weapon into a high-damage or Jolt-happy monster.

Voltshot and Dragonfly make some serious sparks fly, but you can also combine Keep Away and Target Lock or Golden Tricorn for incredible sustain damage. I prefer Target Lock as it’s much easier to keep active, but Golden Tricorn is a good secondary option, provided you can defeat enemies every few seconds.

The Prosecutor PvP God Roll

  • Barrel: As PvE
  • Magazine: As PvE
  • Trait 1: Zen Moment, Keep Away
  • Trait 2: Target Lock, Tap the Trigger

Recoil control will always be valuable for Auto Rifles in PvP, and if you can manage to get a Zen Moment/Target Lock Prosecutor, you can turn a powerful weapon into a hard-hitting laser beam.

The Prosecutor might be a lower-tier 450 RPM Auto Rifle, but that doesn’t matter much if your enemy still goes down in just over half a second. In fact, if you hit all headshots, the Prosecutor has a very slight edge over the other reigning champion, Auto Rifle: The Summoner. And between the two, I much prefer the method of getting The Prosecutor.

How to Get the Prosecutor in Destiny 2

The tutorial encounter in the Prophecy Dungeon in Destiny 2

The Prosecutor is probably the easiest weapon to get from the Prophecy Dungon aside from the Relentless Strand Pulse Rifle, as both are potential drops from the first encounter. The Phalanx Echo is very simple to defeat, especially in a fireteam. Even if your team doesn’t bypass the opening tutorial section with swords, you can clear the Phalanx fight and reset the farm in less than five minutes.

Bear in mind that the Prosecutor also shares a drop chance with leg armor and a class item, and there is no deterministic way to farm it, nor is it craftable. If you want a god roll version and you don’t get it on your first Prosecutor drop, there’s a good chance you’ll be farming for some time before you get the one you want. No, farming for it isn’t as bad as other guns, especially Raid and Dungeon Exotics that lack bad luck protection, but it’s up there.

Those are my god roll options for the Prosecutor Auto Rifle, whether you’re playing PvE or PvP in Destiny 2. For more content on the game, check out our guides hub.
