How do you beat the Remnant 2 Bloat King boss? This creature, a giant blob, waits for you in Losomn: The Great Sewers. Our guide discusses the Bloat King boss’ abilities, how you can defeat it, and the reward you’ll get for the feat.
How to Beat the Bloat King in Remnant 2
Bloat King Boss Abilities
To beat the Bloat King, you need to be mindful of its orb projectiles, laser beams, and slime mobs. Your opponent has the following abilities:
- Electro Orbs — Two Bloated Bubbles will float in mid-air, and they’ll shoot electric orbs until they’re destroyed.
- Bloat Beam — The boss will fire a huge laser beam that lasts for several seconds.
- Sewer Slime — The entire sewer area is filled with slime mobs that can also cause damage.
Bloat King Strategy
Due to dynamic campaign progression, your journey might be different. In my case, I fought the Bloat King boss in Losomn: The Great Sewers dungeon, which happened to be part of the zone’s main quest. I made sure to move sideways to avoid the Electro Orbs while shooting the Bloated Bubbles. They do respawn after a while.
For the Bloat Beam, I was able to minimize damage since I mained the Medic class, which allowed me to cast Wellspring to heal up. Alternatively, you can jump down the goo-filled canal to avoid the beam, but you need to be mindful of the slimes that get close to you. Whenever the coast is clear, focus your fire on the Bloat King to destroy it.

Reward: Bone Sap and Voltaic Rondure Mod
The reward for beating the Bloat King in Remnant 2 is the Bone Sap material. It can be exchanged for the Voltaic Rondure mod, which has the following effect:
- Launches a slow-moving orb that pulses every 0.5 seconds, dealing 20 shock damage to enemies within three meters and applying overloaded for 15 seconds. The orb itself lasts for 20 seconds, and can be overcharged by shooting it.
As you can see, the Voltaic Rondure mod is quite viable if you have firearms that still need a mod. The orb deals decent damage and is best used in cramped areas so it doesn’t fly too far away.
That’s it: that’s all you need to know about the Bloat King in Remnant 2. Don’t forget that Losomn has other deadly foes, such as Magister Dullain. For more tips and strategies, you can visit our Remnant 2 guides hub.
