How do you beat the Legion boss in Remnant 2? This creature — a giant, floating eye — can potentially melt you with little effort at all and poses a greater threat than some of the other ultimate enemies you’ll face in Gunfire Games’ TPS action RPG. Thing is, it’s most vulnerable when it poses the biggest threat. Our guide discusses its abilities, strats, and rewards.
How to Beat the Legion in Remnant 2
Legion Boss Abilities
To beat the Remnant 2 Legion boss, be mindful of its creature summons and deadly gaze. Your opponent has the following abilities:
- Invulnerable Lord — A nameless lord is sitting on the throne. It’s impervious to all damage, so don’t bother shooting it.
- Shockwave Summon — When a shockwave occurs, that means the boss will summon multiple Root-corrupted mobs that will beeline for your position.
- Gaze of Madness — The boss truly has only one major attack, and that’s when the eye opens, causing a red flare and gradual status build-up as shown in a meter.
Legion Boss Fight Strategy
Due to dynamic campaign progression, your journey might be different. In my case, I fought the Legion boss in the Yaesha: Twisted Chantry dungeon. When I arrived at this zone, the dungeon was part of the main quest, which also led to the Water Harp puzzle.
You can just ignore the lord on the throne, focusing primarily on the floating eye and the summoned enemies. If you have the Handler class, then your dog companion can distract these hostiles. Alternatively, the Engineer class can deploy auto-turrets that mow down foes if they’re within range.
In my case, however, I mained the Medic class. The Wellspring ability allowed me to heal and stand in place, just as Gaze of Madness occurred. With it, I was able to shoot the center of the floating eye for prolonged periods since the ability was able to outheal the damage. Still, I didn’t wait until the Madness meter filled.

Reward: Agnosia Driftwood and Fargazer Mod
The reward for beating the Legion boss is the Agnosia Driftwood material. It can be exchanged for the Fargazer mod, which has the following effect: Calls forth an Eye of Legion that gazes at your aim target, causing stacks of Madness to build up. Each stack deals +3 damage per second, with a maximum of 10 stacks that can last up to 30 seconds.
Needless to say, the Fargazer mod is quite viable, especially since you’ll often aim-down-sights when shooting your opponents. With it, you’ll be able to cause damage-over-time effects, depending on the number of Madness stacks you inflict.
That’s how to beat the Legion boss in Remnant 2. Don’t forget that Yaesha has other deadly foes, such as the Kaeula’s Shadow and Mantagora. For more tips and strategies, you can visit our Remnant 2 guides hub.
