The Crown of the Red Prince in Remnant 2 is a unique item found in a specific encounter in Losomn. Obtaining it is quite tricky, since it’s a secret item that also requires you to complete certain nebulous objectives. Our guide discusses the method to get the Crown of the Red Prince, as well as its stats.
How to Get the Crown of the Red Prince in Remnant 2
To get the Remnant 2 Crown of the Red Prince, you must defeat the Red Prince boss by landing the final blow (last hit) with the Assassin’s Dagger. That might sound simple on paper, but trust me: it isn’t.
Due to dynamic campaign progression, you need to make sure that the Gilded Chamber and Council Chamber are both available in the Losomn region.
- The Gilded Chamber is where you can fight the Red Prince.
- The Council Chamber is where you can get the Assassin’s Dagger.
- If one or both dungeons aren’t there, then you have to reroll Adventure Mode.
In my case, I noticed that the Council Chamber was in my main campaign run, which was for Morrow Parish (the Nightweaver boss). For the Gilded Chamber, I had to do an Adventure Mode run, which started in the Beatific Palace (the Faelin/Faerin boss). The door on the second-floor library happened to lead to the Gilded Chamber.
How to Get the Assassin’s Dagger
The Assassin’s Dagger comes from the Council Chamber puzzle/investigation. The goal is to match the colored symbols in the Council Tribunal area with those in the Council Chamber. This reveals the throne room with a large statue. Climb on the ledges to reach the back of the statue to find the Assassin’s Dagger.
Don’t hand the Assassin’s Dagger quest item to the magistrates. Instead, give it to Nimue in Nimue’s Retreat. This allows you to turn the Assassin’s Dagger into a weapon. For best results, make sure to upgrade it in Ward 13 so it deals more damage.
How to Beat the Red Prince with the Assassin’s Dagger
The next step is to challenge the Red Prince, making sure that you land the killing blow with the Assassin’s Dagger. This is easier said than done due to the boss’ abilities, which we discuss in detail in our boss guide.
In my case, I used consumables, concoctions, and traits that increased my armor and damage mitigation. Among classes, I think the most viable ones are the Medic and Alchemist due to their heals and buffs, respectively. The Engineer is also decent since it can deploy turrets, but you need to deactivate them once the boss’ health is too low. Likewise, I suggest avoiding the Handler and Summoner classes, since their minions can accidentally take out the boss.
I was playing solo, so this particular method took a while. I had to be careful. Once the boss’ HP was down to a sliver, I had no choice but to keep striking with the Assassin’s Dagger, foregoing the use of firearms. The weapon deals extra damage against bleeding targets, which made it invaluable for the fight.
If you’re playing with a group, then make sure that everyone is on the same page. Don’t bring pets or minions, and just use melee attacks on the boss. Make sure everyone has the Assassin’s Dagger equipped when its HP is low. With a bit of luck, you’ll receive the Remnant 2 Crown of the Red Prince.
