Where to Find the Rat Ogre

To get the Remnant 2 Academic’s Armor Set, you’ll need to let a Rat Ogre drag you through a drain in the Great Sewers dungeon. Yes, you read that right.

The dungeon itself is a potential location in Losomn. Once you arrive there, look for any large drains with metal bars. The Rat Ogre can spawn in any one of these, so keep your eyes peeled. You can also trigger the instance again (if your character dies in the attempt) by finding a different drain.

As an aside, this mechanic is how you would unlock the Alchemist archetype. The difference is that you’ll do that in the Losomn – Morrow Parish zone. I do think these unlock methods are rather unique and refreshing to see. Originally, I thought that these were just jump scares, and I was surprised when they led to actual items and class unlocks.

Reward: Academic’s Armor Set and Drakestone Pearl

After getting dragged into the drain, your character will wake up next to a pile of bones and carcasses. The Rat Ogre will appear soon thereafter, so make sure you fill it with lead to take it out.

Once it dies, you’ll receive the Drakestone Pearl. This ring enables stamina regeneration during melee attacks at 20% of the normal rate.

Check the small nook to the side, and you’ll find the corpse of a man. Go ahead and pick up the Academic’s Armor Set from his body.

Academic’s Armor Set Stats

When fully worn, you’ll gain:

• 72 armor
• 42 weight / encumbrance
• 5 bleeding resistance
• 7 blight resistance
• 15 corrosion resistance

It’s not the toughest and sturdiest outfit you can acquire in the game, but it does make your character look snazzy.
