The Resident Evil 4 remake brings back nearly every famous location from the original 2004 title. From the main areas that players explore to the smallest rooms, there is so much that has been faithfully recreated or modernized. This also includes easter eggs, such as when a player shoots at the lake, which is found in Chapter 3.
One of the most memorable aspects includes an easter egg that has carried over. If your curiosity is getting the better of you, this is what happens in the Resident Evil 4 remake when you shoot at the lake.
What Happens When You Shoot the Lake in the Resident Evil 4 Remake
Just like in the original game, shooting at the lake will cause a giant lake monster (known as the Del Lago) to appear and kill you. This is the previously mentioned boss of the chapter and it can appear in a cutscene when you reach the lake.
The primary difference is that instead of the camera zooming out, this time around it now enters a first-person view of the monster eating you. It’s a bit slower and doesn’t feel like a jump scare as much, but it’s essentially the same easter egg. Some fans have lovingly told new players that triggering it provides a unique reward or special treasure. While you won’t find any treasure here, it is a fun moment nonetheless.
Now you know what happens when you shoot the lake in the Resident Evil 4 remake. There are plenty of other easter eggs throughout, including a way to skip the opening village fight. For everything you need to know to survive Leon’s adventure, check out our Resident Evil 4 remake guide hub.
