What’s the Matilda School Report Answer in Reverse 1999?

The Matilda School Report riddle in Chapter 1 asks you the following: The sheet is a school report, and the signature block says “Matilda Bouanich.” The score has been blackened on purpose, and you can only see a jotting, “The number of points I needed to reach full marks is exactly the number implied by h-h-her name. Why? Why?!” What is Matilda’s score?

This is the only information we have to go off of to solve the riddle. The first thing we can interpret from this is the scoring system used for the school report. Since it says “number of points” we can assume it’ll be out of 100.

Our next hint comes from the line, “To reach full marks is exactly the number implied by the h-h-her name.” The “her” is none other than Sonneto. Sonneto is the Italian name for sonnet, a type of poem with 14 lines. If we do some simple math and subtract 14 from 100, we’ll get a score of 86

So, we can conclude that Matilda’s school report is 86. When you answer the riddle, make sure there are no extra spaces in the text box. Keep it as a numeral, too, instead of spelling it out.
