Risk of Rain Returns: How to Get 56 Leaf Clover

Here's how to get the 56 Leaf Clover in RoR Returns.

Having the right items can make or break a run, so increasing your chances of getting high rarity drops can drastically increase your chances of survival. But how can you do that? Here’s how to get 56 Leaf Clover in Risk of Rain Returns.

How to Get 56 Leaf Clover in Risk of Rain Returns

The 56 Leaf Clover is a utility item that increases the chance of elite mobs dropping items by 4%, increasing by 1.5% per stack. Sounds good, right? Right. The problem is that you can only get it from one place, and doing so isn’t necessarily easy. Thankfully, you’ll only have to do this once.

You can unlock the 56 Leaf Clover for future runs by defeating the Scavenger mini-boss for the first time. He can appear on higher difficulties, usually on the Contact Light ship final level. Furthermore, he can also appear on any level after looping.

Scavenger Tips and Tricks

Scavenger is a formidable foe tougher than elites — and potentially some bosses. That said, he can be kited like any other mob. The Scavenger will utilize random items it’s found, like a missile launcher, which can be dodged. The mini-boss will also create a lightning field around him. Keep your distance and don’t get overwhelmed by his various projectile attacks. Also, take care if you have Drones or are near allies, as his ranged attacks have splash damage thanks to the Brilliant Behemoth item.

Once you defeat him, the 56 Leaf Clover is yours! If you want to practice fighting him, he’s the final enemy in the “Scavenger HuntProvidence Trial for the Enforcer.

Deadly Combo: 56 Leaf Clover and the Artifact of Honor

I recommend combining the 56 Leaf Clover’s ability to make elites drop items with the Artifact of Honor. That’s because the Artifact of Honor makes all enemies spawn as elites. This creates a run that’s potentially highly dangerous but also rewarding and fun.

Crank this combination up with the Artifact of Sacrifice that removes chests from the game and allows monsters to drop items on death. However, if you don’t want to remove chests and prioritize the 56 Leaf Clover, I’ve also enjoyed guaranteeing it drops with the Artifact of Command. You can then stack it and receive tons of items from elite mobs.

Now you know how to get 56 Leaf Clover in Risk of Rain Returns. Combining it with the various Artifacts can make for some interesting runs with an alternative looter experience. For more guides like the best Acrid build, check out our RoR Returns hub.
