Blood Merlot is used to craft the Blood Merlot Amulet and will fully replenish your blood pool based on the blood taken from the prisoner from which you extracted blood. However, you’ll need an essential ingredient, Sacred Grapes V Rising’s resource, to make several vital potions. Here’s a V Rising guide showing you how to make Blood Merlot.

Before crafting the Blood Merlot potion in V Rising, you must defeat Baron Du Bouchon, The Sommelier, a Level 70 V Blood Carrier, found in the Brighthaven Vineyards, to unlock the Blood Merlot recipe. After that, you can follow the below instructions to craft the potion.

Here’s how to make Blood Merlot in V Rising:

  1. Build a Prison Cell in your Castle.
  2. Capture a human using the Dominate Human power.
  3. Interact with the prisoner to open the crafting menu.
  4. Pick Blood Merlot from the list.
    • You’ll need the following crafting materials:
      • 1x Empty Glass Bottle
      • 60x Sacred Grapes

It is important to note that making a Blood Merlot potion will damage your prisoner more and increase their misery level higher than it would for making a standard blood potion.

Where to get an Empty Glass Bottle in V Rising

You can craft an Empty Glass Bottle at the Alchemy Table, which you’ll unlock after beating Clive the Firestarter, the level 30 V Blood Carrier from Bandit Sulphur Quarry in Farbane Woods. Once unlocked, you’ll need 8 pieces of Glass for the recipe. If you haven’t unlocked Glass yet, you can unlock the Glass recipe by defeating Grethel the Glassblower, a level 50 V Blood Carrier found at the Quartz Quarry in the Dunley Farmlands region.

If you haven’t unlocked the Prison Cell recipe yet, you can do so by slaying Vincent the Frostbringer, a level 44 V Blood Carrier who patrols the southern roads of the Dunley Farmlands area. He’ll always end his patrol at the Haunted Iron Mine, so that’s a great place to start looking for him with blood tracking. Be careful, as he is guarded by two militia enemies who could turn the fight in his favor if you’re not careful.

Once unlocked, you’ll need the following crafting materials to build a Prison Cell in your castle:

  • 8x Iron Ingot
  • 2x Reinforced Plank

While you’re waiting for Vincet the Frostbrinter to show up, I recommend that you farm Iron Ore from the Haunted Iron Mine. While doing so, you’ll also be able to loot Reinforced Planks from containers in the area, making it super easy to obtain the necessary materials to craft the Prison Cell.

Where to get Sacred Grapes in V Rising

  • The Brighthave Vineyards in the Silverhills region V Rising
  • Farming Sacred Grapes V Rising

You can only get Sacred Grapes in V Rising from the Brighthaven Vineyards in the Silverlight Hills region by harvesting them or looting vats. Be careful, though, as the region is guarded by high-level harpies that’ll land after you start harvesting sacred grapes and humans patrolling the vineyard. If you’re lucky, a Sacred Grape Vine will drop a Sacred Grape Seed, which you can plant in Growing Plots at your castle. Both Sacred Grapes and Sacred Grape Seeds are teleportable, so be sure to use a Vampire Waygate to return them to your base after farming them.
