In the Forgotten Kingdom DLC, there’s a choice at the end of the Infected Abyss involving a Root statue. It asks the player whether they’ll submit for power or fight, each choice has its reward. So should you fight or submit to the Root Statue in Infected Abyss Remnant 2?
Should You Fight or Submit to The Emissary in the Infected Abyss Remnant 2
Essentially, if you choose to submit to The Emissary at the end of the Infected Abyss dungeon, you’ll get an amulet that boosts Summons. On the other hand, if you choose to fight, you’ll face The Emissary in a boss fight that drops a mutator which increases close-range damage.
I recommend submitting if your build uses Summons and fighting if you’re using close-range weapons like Shotguns. More specifically, submitting to the Root statue has no inherent consequences and gives the player the Profane Soul Stone amulet which does the following:
- Increases Summon Damage by 30%.
- Increases Summon Movement Speed by 15.
- Reduces total Damage Reduction by 10% per active Summon.
I highly recommend this choice for Summoners as the item is an incredible gear piece for any archetype that has Summons. The downside is almost negligible compared to the benefits. It’s basically a must-have item for Summons and I also suggest speaking to the Keeper after you get this to learn extra lore.
Alternatively, if you choose to fight The Emissary, a boss fight will begin. It’s nothing we haven’t seen before since you’ll just need to kite the boss back and take out the ads. Winning the fight rewards you with the Near-Sighted mutator that increases the damage of the slotted weapon by 10% if firing at enemies within seven meters. If you’re going for a close-range build using weapons like Shotguns, then I would suggest fighting over submitting.
That’s it for my guide on should you fight or submit to the root statue in the Infected Abyss Remnant 2. For more Remnant 2 guides, check out the full patch notes for The Forgotten Kingdom DLC.
