There are a few times when you have to make a decision about which drink to give the characters at your tavern. Usually, this is when a character is going on a quest, and you have to decide their fate. So, should you give Fable Charisma or Dexterity in Tavern Talk?
Tavern Talk: Should You Give Fable Charisma or Dexterity
For Fable’s first quest, they decide to hunt a werewolf. They say that they can take one of two approaches, but they want you to pick which one they take. In essence, this means that you craft a drink for a certain stat. The result is then a shift in how the story and relationships between characters play out.
What Happens If You Give Fable Charisma
Giving Fable the Charisma drink means that they’ll try to be diplomatic with the werewolf. This actually earns Fable a friend. When they go to hunt the werewolf, they come across Caerlin, who put the quest up in the first place. It turns out that the werewolf is the uncle Caerlin mentioned, and he contracted lycanthropy and ran from his family. With the power of diplomacy in their veins, thanks to your drink, Fable solves a family feud and makes a friend with Caerlin.
What Happens If You Give Fable Dexterity
Dexterity is the stat that you give Fable if you want them to go with the plan of fighting the werewolf. Considering the outcome of the Charisma option, you might suspect that Fable’s quest doesn’t go as well with this approach. During this quest, Fable mistakes Caerlin for the werewolf and shoots her with three arrows. Although they still remedy the situation, Caerlin is unhappy with Fable. Instead of being friends when they return, Fable tries to make up for their mistakes and get to know Caerlin.
Whether you should give Fable Charisma or Dexterity in Tavern Talk depends on how you want to affect the story. I prefer the Charisma route, and then Fable gives you a star-themed trinket for your tavern instead of a stick, too. From here, check out our Tavern Talk hub for more content!
