Solo Leveling: Arise — Best Characters Tier List

Find out which hunters are the strongest using my tier list of the best characters in Solo Leveling: Arise.

There are 20 playable characters in the global release of Solo Leveling: Arise. Some of the hunters still require certain upgrades at this early stage of release, but I decided to create a tier list of the best characters in Solo Leveling: Arise to give you a good idea of what’s coming.

Solo Leveling: Arise S-Tier Hunters

Emma Laurent

  • ATK: 769
  • DEF: 762
  • HP: 1,728

Emma is an extremely versatile and flexible tank and breaker. That’s why you can easily put her in any team composition for top performance. Her best attack is Burning Pride, which releases a massive flame of fire alongside a fire clone of herself, dealing 1555% damage. My favorite of all her support skills is Roaring Flames, which allows me not only to continuously attack with her flame rapier, dealing 555% damage, but also to improve my defense by 7.77%.

Baek Yoonho

  • ATK: 773
  • DEF: 857
  • HP: 1,533

Baek possesses the best light damage attacks and skills in the game, with some very efficient breaks on almost everything he does. While executing his powerful Truth: White Flame Strike attack, I can deal as much as 3297% damage to a single target, which ends up with a violent explosion. But when it comes to his support skills, I recommend White Flame Storm Kick, which performs a powerful downward strike, dealing 623% damage and breaking enemies’ defense. Note that all his damage depends on his DEF stat, so be sure to level it up to increase the DPS.

Solo Leveling: Arise A-Tier Hunters

Choi Jong-In

  • ATK: 879
  • DEF: 749
  • HP: 1,539

Choi is definitely one of the best damage-over-time hunters in Solo Leveling: Arise. He wields fire magic and is a master of crowd control. His ultimate attack is End of Days, which summons a gigantic fire spear from the sky, dealing 2162% damage. But my favorite skill of his is the QTE attack called Celestial Fire Dragon, which summons a fire dragon that deals 864% elemental damage. The only reason I placed Choi in the A-tier is his total lack of critical hit abilities.

Min Byung-Gu

  • ATK: 761
  • DEF: 767
  • HP: 1,734

But enough with the DPS characters. Let’s take a look at some healers. Min is by far the best one with his Light’s Glimmer ability, which heals all his allies. But surprisingly, his ultimate skill, Heavenly Blessing, is highly offensive, creating a massive circle of light that deals 284% damage. Sure, it’s not as powerful as those of the hunters above, but it’s perfectly fine to use for self-defense. I wouldn’t say that every team requires a healer, but if you do, then definitely check out Min.

Lim Tae-Gyu

  • ATK: 874
  • DEF: 783
  • HP: 1,480

Lim is a master of archery magic, making him an excellent addition to any team for precise ranged damage. Quick Attack: Typhoon Fire is his best attack, during which he switches to sniper mode, dealing 1003% damage to a single target. When it comes to his support skills, I found his Heavy Attack: Typhoon Fire to be highly effective. In this case, he imbues his arrows with powerful magic and deals 585% elemental damage. It’s too bad his DEF and HP stats are on the lower side; otherwise, he’d be a surefire candidate for an S-tier.

Solo Leveling: Arise B-Tier Hunters

Lee Bora

  • ATK: 870
  • DEF: 768
  • HP: 1,517

Lee is a highly specialized supporter who synergizes only with dark elemental hunters. Use her Strengthening Charm to create an enhancement circle where dark allies can buff their skills. She can also pull in all the enemies inside a gathering circle with the help of her Tempest ability. Finally, she can summon a giant beast named Meg that deals 2972% damage using her Dark Charm: Meg skill. As you can see, she’s quite powerful, but since Lee benefits only dark hunters, I put her in the B-tier.

Woo Jinchul

  • ATK: 778
  • DEF: 876
  • HP: 1,487

Woo is a boxer with wind elemental punches and strike abilities. His most significant skill is Mediation of Power, where he performs a combo that involves ducking, a quick two-handed hook attack, and an immediate quick backstep. What makes it so great is that enemies can’t hit back! If you want something more straightforward, then I recommend using his Serious Punch attack, which deals 2884% damage. But since his attacks can be used only in close combat, he becomes an easy target for enemies.

Hwang Dongsoo

  • ATK: 772
  • DEF: 864
  • HP: 1,521

Hwang is potentially a very strong hunter with enhanced DPS and consistent crowd control. But at this early stage of release, the developer still hasn’t introduced proper artifact sets to his defense scaling, which makes him highly vulnerable to enemy attacks. Once he receives those in future updates, be sure to check out this hunter for some terrific offensive skills, such as Merciless and Cold-blooded Connection.

That’s it for my tier list of the best characters in Solo Leveling: Arise. Stay tuned for more SLA tips and tricks articles here at GameSkinny.
