Vampire Survivors has implemented various “secrets” that you can unlock by performing some vaguely explained tasks in the Secrets menu. One of the secrets tells you: “Sometimes you just need to ask for help,” and here we are, ready to help you.

How to Solve the “Sometimes You Just Need to Ask for Help” Secret Riddle in Vampire Survivors

The “Sometimes you just need to ask for help” riddle is solved by following these steps:

1. Unlock Exdash.
2. Unlock Toastie.
3. Unlock Smith IV.

All of these three characters are secret ghost-like characters, and while it may be a big deal to unlock them for some, we have to get going and start somewhere. First, make sure that you have the Scroll of Morbane.

How to Unlock Exdash in Vampire Survivors

There are two ways to unlock Exdash. The first one is the grind method, where you need to pick up up to 65535 lucky clovers. The chance increases every time you pick one up. The first lucky clover has a 1/65535 chance; the second has a 2/65535 chance, and so forth, until you get closer to some reasonable odds and actually nail Exdash.

The second one is faster. You just need to enter the “Spells” menu on the main screen type in the following spell, and hit the enter key:

How to Unlock Toastie in Vampire Survivors

“Uppercut a non-red Reaper” is the riddle for unlocking Toastie, and here’s a short breakdown on how to do it:

1. Get Exdash.
2. Kill Trickster, Drowner, Maddener, or Stalker. These are the Purple, Blue, Yellow and Green Reaper. The easiest way to do this is with Rosary, which is a pick-up item that looks like a necklace with a cross on it.
3. Click Up Arrow + Enter when Toastie pops up in the bottom right corner.
4. Short jingle sound will let you know that you have unlocked Toastie.

How to Unlock Smith IV in Vampire Survivors

The grand finale of this guide is upon us. Smith IV can be unlocked by two different methods:

The first, fast one is to use the spell (cheat code):

The second, genuine method is to open up the main menu of Vampire Survivors. Then, without going into any specific menu, type in spam on your keyboard. With this, you have started a hidden timer, and you need to finish the rest of the steps as soon as possible:

1. Hit play to enter the character selection, and type spam again.
2. Choose any character, confirm the selection, go to the stage selection, and then type spam again.
3. Choose any stage, and start the run. When you enter a run, type humbug and leave the run to check out the new character you’ve just unlocked.
