Sons of the Forest: How to Get and Use the Sled

The Sled is one of the most convenient and fastest transportation means in Sons of the Forest, but there are a few things that players need to know before using Sled as intended. Our guide will show you how to get and use the Sled in Sons of the Forest.

How to Get the Sled in Sons of the Forest

The easiest way to get the sled is to print it on a 3D Printer using 1000ml of resin. You can find some resin on the shelves next to the 3D Printer, but most of your resin will come from the supply crates.

Once you have the required amount of resin, you need to do the following:

1. Interact with the 3D Printer laptop.
2. Press “R” key to enter the menu.
3. Find and select “Sled” option.
4. Press and hold “E” key to start the 3D printing.

Once your Sled is printed you need to pick it up by pressing the “E” key once again. After that it will go straight into your inventory.

How to Use the Sled in Sons of the Forest

The Sled is a specialized tool that can be used only in certain conditions, and once those are met, you will have the fastest means of transportation in the game. With it, you can:

• Slide down hills
• Negate fall damage
• Negate collision damage
• Float above waterways
• Traverse streams and rivers

The most common way of using Sled is to slide down the mountain as quickly as possible. This can save you a ton of time instead of walking the path on foot. Of course, you need to find a more or less clear path downhill in order to achieve the desired effect for a quick descend. Here’s what you need to do in order to use the sled:

1. Stand on top of the hill or mount.
2. Open your inventory.
3. Select the sled by clicking the LMB.
4. Once equipped, press “Jump (spacebar)” + LMB (left mouse button).

If you’ve done it right, you will immediately jump onto the Sled and go down the chosen path. In case the path isn’t steep enough the sled will stop and players will step up. But if your speed is decent, then you can easily float above obstacles and even move along the rivers.
