Star Wars Battlefront lets you play as iconic heroes and villains from the Star Wars movies. Each of them has their own abilities and play styles. Even though they are very strong, you can’t always just run in without a plan and expect to kill everyone.
There are also 2 multiplayer modes that focus on playing as a hero or villain. These games modes require you to give more thought to how you use each character. I’ll help give you an advantage by explaining each hero/villain. Please visit my Beginner guide for the basics, and other info on the game.
This guide will go over everything about heroes and villains in Star Wars Battlefront including:
- Hero and Villain Info – A list of each hero and villain, how to play as them, and descriptions of their abilities.
- Hero and Villain Ships – A list of the hero and villain ships, how to play as them and descriptions of their abilities.
Hero and Villain Info
There are 3 heroes and 3 villains in Star Wars Battlefront. This keeps things even on each side. You can play as them in Supremacy, Walker Assault, Fighter Squadron, Hero Hunt, and Heroes VS Villains. You can also play them in the Hero Battles under the Missions section.
You can only play as heroes or villains by getting a hero pickup on the map during a match. The exception is Hero Hunt and Heroes VS Villains, where the focus is on playing them.
Luke Skywalker
His main attacks are melee with his lightsaber, but he does have force abilities that help when the enemy is out of reach. He can also block with his lightsaber to reduce damage, or deflect blaster shots back to soldiers.
His jump also goes much higher than the other heroes and villains.
- Force Push – Knocks enemies back, usually killing them. Stuns other heroes and villains.
- Heavy Strike – Wide lightsaber swing. There is a short delay, but it can also take out groups of enemies.
- Saber Rush – This launches you forward a great distance and does a swinging attack at the same time.
Han Solo
He uses ranged blaster attacks, but also has a shoulder charge to travel.
- Shoulder Charge – This causes Han to charge forward. Good for escaping or even taking out unsuspecting enemies.
- Rapid Fire – This allows him to shoot multiple shots without overheating.
- Lucky Shot – This is a charged shot that does extra damage.
Princess Leia
She is more of a support character, but can still take out enemies fairly easily.
- Trooper Bane – This allows her to kill normal soldiers in one shot and lasts for a short time.
- Enhanced Squad Shield – This is a stronger version of the standard Squad Shield. It puts up a dome shield around you that blocks all outside attacks until it is destroyed.
- Supply Drop – This places power-ups on the field for your teammates. When you play Hero Battle in Missions, it places a Hero Health pickup for yourself.
Darth Vader
He is similar to look and does main melee damage. He also has force abilities to attack at a distance, and can block with his lightsaber.
- Force Choke – This lifts an enemy soldier in the air and chokes them to death. It stuns other heroes and villains.
- Heavy Strike – Wide lightsaber swing. There is a short delay, but it can also take out groups of enemies.
- Saber Throw – He throws his lightsaber for a ranged attack, instead of rushing forward like Luke.
Emperor Palpatine
The Emperor doesn’t use a lightsaber when you play as him, only force attacks. He also has a support ability. His main attack is force lightning.
- Chain Lightning – This is another lightning attack, but it will hit multiple enemies if they are close enough to each other.
- Imperial Resources – Similar to Leia’s supply drop, this places a power-up on the field.
- Force Dash – This hurls the Emperor forward to close in for an attack, or make an escape.
Boba Fett
Boba Fett is a little different than the other heroes and villains because instead of zooming in with your weapon, he flies in the air. His main attacks are from a blaster, but he has a few tricks he uses as well.
- Flamethrower – This sprays fires in a short range for a limited time that is great for taking out people in close-ranged combat.
- Jetpack – This allows him to fly around until his fuel runs out. Once it recharges, he can use it again.
- Wrist Rocket – This shoots a small rocket that is great for long-ranged combat.
Hero and Villain Ships
There is also 1 hero and 1 villain ship. You can only play as these during the Fighter Squadron mode. You get it from hero pickups placed randomly on the map, just like other heroes and villains.
Millennium Falcon
Han Solo’s famous ship is available if you play as the Rebel Alliance. It has 3 abilities and can use the evasive maneuvers that normal ships have.
- Shield – This gives you a shield to absorb some damage for a short time.
- Speed Boost – Gives you a boost of speed to catch up to, or get away from, enemies.
- Homing Rocket – This launches a rocket that seeks the enemy if you locked-on to them long enough before firing.
Slave I
The ship of the infamous bounty hunter, Boba Fett. It also has 3 abilities and evasive maneuvers.
- Proton Torpedo – Missile that seeks out enemies when locked-on.
- Sensor Jammer – This allows you to avoid radar and lock-ons.
- Ion Cannon – Blast that does extra damage to vehicles and lock-on the enemies.
