How to Move Buildings in Stardew Valley

The building moving tool was introduced in one of the recent updates to Stardew Valley. Essentially, you can now move buildings and customize your farm layout more thoroughly and not worry about mistakes when placing down buildings for the first time. The feature is accessible from Robin’s Carpenter Shop.

To move buildings in Stardew Valley, follow these steps:

  • Talk to Robin at the Carpenter’s Shop.
  • Select the “Construct Farm Buildings” option.
  • Click on the leftmost omni arrow-shaped “Move Buildings” icon.
  • Locate the building you want to move.
  • Click on it and drag it to your new desired location.

Note that the new space must have ample room for the building to fit signified by the green square grid. Simply place the building down in a new location and you’re done.

When is Robin Open?

While the Carpenter’s Shop is accessible from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Robin’s work time is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. She’s closed on Tuesday except when it rains and she’ll close an hour earlier on Friday. There are a few other specific days when she takes time off but these are the main ones in general.
