How to Get Luxury Textile in Starfield

Luxury Textile is a high value resource obtained by buying it or farming it from alien creatures. It’s needed to complete the Outpost Development research project Decoration 3, which requires two units. Once researched you can build lux furniture that utilizes the item including:

  • Luxury Couch 01-18
  • Chair 27-28
  • Fancy Sofa
  • Stool 19
  • Bed 05
  • Animal Hide Rug
  • Rectangle Rug
  • Rug 10-11

It sells for a decent amount compared to other resources. It sells for seven credits each, without any investment in the Commerce skill, but does weigh over a pound. If you’re in an area where you can stockpile the item, it’s a good idea to do so.

Purchase Luxury Textile

The easiest way to get Luxury Textile is to simply buy it. There are a few different vendors throughout the Settled System that carry the item. However, shop inventories are randomized, so it can take you a few tries before being able to actually buy it. It costs 55 credits per unit, but if you’re only finishing the research or building a single item, this may be the best way to go.

Vendors

  • UC Exchange in Cydonia
  • Zuri’s Essentials on The Key
  • UC Distribution Center in New Atlantis
  • New Homestead General Shop in Titan

Farm Luxury Textile

If you’re looking to stock up on Luxury Textile, or plan to build a large amount of items that require it, farming is the way to go. You can find Foxbats, a creature who’s primary dropped resource is Luxury Textile, on Schrodinger III in the Schrodinger system. They’re found in the Mountain or Hill biomes of the planet.

Once they’ve been scanned a few times, you’ll discover that Foxbats can be live harvested for the resource. They’re aggressive so you’ll want to stay alert. They’re also approved for outpost production.

However, this is a high level system, ranking in at level 75. It’s located far to the right of Alpha Centauri, and can require multiple jumps to reach depending on your ship. Once you’re planet side, make sure that you remain vigilante as high level enemies can take you out quickly. If you’re still relatively low level it’s wise to have a high stock of Med Packs or Trauma Kits to keep your health topped off. I was level 55 when I first landed on Schrodinger III and was taken out in two hits by one of the creatures.

Console Command — Luxury Textile ID

If you’re struggling to find a vendor that has Luxury Textile, or keep dying while trying to farm it yourself, you can always use a console command to add it to your inventory. It’s ID number is 559E. Check out our full guide on using console commands for what you need to type with the ID. Be aware that using console commands will negate earning achievements unless you utilize a mod.
