Starfield System Requirement Details

Can your computer run Starfield? Probably. Here are the Starfield system requirements just in case.

Starfield is Bethesda’s first newly developed RPG IP in over 20 years, and it’s going in a different direction than The Elder Scrolls or Fallout series: straight up into space. You might expect that a AAA RPG in 2023 might require a monster rig to run well, but the Starfield system requirements are surprisingly light in all but one aspect. We’ll go into exactly that in this short guide.

Starfield PC System Requirements

  • Neither the minimum requirements nor recommended requirements are top-of-the-line.
  • You’ll need to install the game to an SSD (solid slate drive) regardless of your specs. In other words, you must have an SSD.

In looking at the requirements we’re about to list, you’ll notice they’re pretty reasonable. Heck, even the fact it has to be installed on an SSD is getting to be standard.

Those who don’t normally game on PC do need to be aware of the SSD requirement and may have to get one to play the game. I really can’t emphasize this factor enough for those who normally play games on console but will have to play Starfield on PC due to exclusivity.

Starfield Minimum System Requirements

  • Operating System: Windows 10
  • Memory: 16GB RAM
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X or Intel Core i7-6800K
  • Video card: AMD Radeon RX 5700 or Nvidia GeForce 1060 Ti
  • Storage space: 125GB

And of course, you’ll need an SSD to install those 125GB to.

Starfield Recommended System Requirements

  • Operating System: Windows 10 or 11
  • Memory: 16GB RAM
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X or Intel i5-10600K
  • Video card: AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT or Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080
  • Storage space: 125GB

Again, you’ll need an SSD. Bethesda also recommends an internet connection in the game’s recommended specs.

And that’s it for the Starfield system requirements. Can you run the game on your computer? Probably. The biggest issue for most will be the necessary SSD, but if you’ve got a gaming PC then you’ve probably already got one. If not, it’s time to go shopping!
