Stranger of Paradise: S-Tier Jobs

Liberator
  • Weapons: All
  • Ability: Mighty Guard

Liberator allows you to be anything you want to be: an attacker, a tank, or even a supporter healer. This job allows you to use all weapons from the greatsword to an axe, as well as carry a shield, and perform some incredible combos.

The special job ability, Mighty Guard, is the best action ability in the game. It allows you to create a protective field around yourself and your allies, reducing damage, and at the same time, healing everybody up.

How to unlock Liberator

Liberator can be unlocked after you’ve unlocked the nodes from the two other jobs:

  • Dragoon
  • Warrior
Tyrant
  • Weapons: Sword, Daggers, Knuckles, Mace, Lance, Katana
  • Ability: Enchant

If you don’t care much about the defensive abilities and want to focus purely on dealing as much damage as possible, then Tyrant would be the next best choice.

Enchant is a very powerful skill, which imbues your weapons with any of the chosen elemental effects, creating a very powerful combo effects and affinity bonuses that will leave no enemy standing.

You will also gain access to the Magic Arts skill, which increases and stacks MP recovery with every successful hit.

How to unlock Tyrant

  • Monk
  • Red Mage

A-Tier Jobs

Breaker
  • Weapons: Greatsword, Lance, Katana, Axe
  • Ability: Zantetsuken

If you enjoy farming mobs and like to take out as many as possible in a single combo, then Breaker will fit the bill perfectly.

The entire job is built around its Zantetsuken ability and its combos, which allow you to stack up Soul Bursts, recovering your MP automatically in a similar fashion to Tyrant’s Magic Arts.

Although Breakers can’t use shields, they can utilize Lightbringer and perform powerful long-ranged attacks.

How to unlock Breaker

  • Samurai
  • Dragoon
  • Berserker
Sage
  • Weapons: Mace
  • Ability: Magic Sigil

Sage is a versatile job that combines both black and white magic into one deadly combination.

Although there aren’t that many combo abilities available except Perfected Strike, which increases magic damage, and Resolute Mace, which restores MP, you won’t really need anything else to be a successful mage player.

One of the best things about Sage is the Teleport skill, which allows you to both evade attacks and quickly move around the area.

How to unlock Sage

  • Black Mage
  • White Mage
Ninja
  • Weapons: Daggers, Knuckles, Katana
  • Ability: Ninjutsu

Ninja is another pure DPS job that is focused on dealing high damage. but What makes it special is the ability to consume ninja tools instead of MP, which can be replenished at the cubes.

Ninja, just like Tyrant, has plenty of combos that deal elemental damage. With the help of the Jubaku skill, you will be able to increase the duration of these status effects and debuffs.

How to unlock Ninja

  • Samurai
  • Thief

B-Tier Jobs

Paladin
  • Weapons: Greatsword, Sword, Mace
  • Ability: Holy Fang

Imagine being able to restore your HP while attacking, then reducing the damage of your opponent’s attacks depending on the level of your max HP. Well, this job does exactly that!

With the help of the Holy Fang ability you can also deal extra holy damage if your HP is full. Use Sentinel skill to increasingly limit the amount of damage that your enemies are trying to deal to you. Sounds complicated, but fun!

How to unlock Paladin

  • Knight
  • White Mage
Dark Knight
  • Weapons: Greatsword, Sword, Knuckles, Lance, Katana, Axe
  • Ability: Souleater

Dark Knight is the complete opposite of the Paladin. Instead of restoring HP to deal damage, Dark Knight consumes own HP to increase its DPS output.

This can be a very effective class, but it does have a high skill cap.

But don’t worry, as there is a special Drain skill that comes with this job that allows you to steal HP from the surrounding enemies.

How to unlock Dark Knight

  • Berserker
  • Warrior
  • Black Mage
Assassin
  • Weapons: Daggers, Knuckles, Mace, Lance
  • Ability: Assassinate

Assassin is a great job for inflicting critical hits and building up on that damage. This is another high skill level job.

Assassin can’t use shields and is quite vulnerable in general, but you can become invisible and completely disorient your enemies. Once this effect is achieved, you critical hits become correspondingly more powerful.
