How to Reach Monstro Town
You’ll arrive at Monstro Town once you get past Belome Temple. Here’s a quick summary:
- Just before the final chamber in Belome Temple, you’ll interact with a statue that dispenses a fortune saying that it’s “hungry” or that it’s “past its bedtime.” Make sure that it says that it’s “hungry.” If not, just reenter the screen.
- Go down the elevator and defeat Belome in battle.
- You’ll then find yourself in Monstro Town. Enter the first door to meet up with an elder. This, eventually, leads to the Land’s Edge cliffside area.
- As for the key itself, follow the path and look above you. You’ll see the key on a high ledge that you won’t be able to reach.
How to Make the Temple Key Fall Down
To obtain the Super Mario RPG Belome Temple Treasure Room Key, you need to enter the nearby room that has a Thwomp, Kobold, and Piranha Plant. Speak to the Thwomp, and it will float and smash down on the ground. Keep talking to it even after you’ve exhausted all dialogue options. For instance, I let it keep saying: “Don’t you dig these vibes?” Then, I checked back outside from time to time to ensure that the key had been dislodged.
Now that you have the key, I suggest returning to the statue in Belome Temple. Jump and hit it, making sure that it says it’s “past its bedtime.” The elevator will then lead you to the Treasure Room. Use the key on the statue that’s blocking the way to gain access.

Inside the Belome Temple Treasure Room, you’ll find lots of goodies, including Rock Candy, various bombs, and flower boosts. Likewise, the Frog Coins that you acquire here can be exchanged for several items from specific vendors.
