The Outlast Trials: How to Decorate Your Cell

How to customize your cell in The Outlast Trials, letting you make it feel like your own.

Your character isn’t the only part of The Outlast Trials you can customize, as you can learn how to customize your cell, too. Each player’s cell is loaded into the Murkoff Facility lobby, so you can share your design and view the designs of others. You have to know how to decorate your cell first, though.

The Outlast Trials: How to Decorate Your Cell

Decorating your cell in The Outlast Trials is similar to customizing your character. You can change the wallpaper, rug, tiles, add posters, and even put items on your dresser and table.

Where to Customize Your Cell

First, head to your cell if you aren’t already there. You can find it by following the icon with a door inside it, and you can double-check that it’s your cell by looking at the name above the door.

Interact with the bed in your cell, and you’ll be presented with plenty of customization options. Like with the character customization options, you’ll notice that there are prices on items for your cell.

The currency used in-game is also earned in-game, so you don’t need to worry about microtransactions and spending real money to personalize your character or cell.

Previewing Cell Decorations

You also don’t need to guess at what items you want for decoration. As you go through the options, they appear as they would in-game, so you can tell if you want to go ahead and purchase it or find something else.

I looked at posters, but ended up selecting tabletop items instead because I felt like the posters clashed with my floral wallpaper, and it was useful for me to be able to avoid trial and error when purchasing items while designing my cell. The Outlast Trials is in Early Access now, but we’ll work to continue covering the game as it heads towards its full release (and after).
