All 50 Art Scroll Locations in The Plucky Squire
- The first art scroll is found early in the game. After Violet joins Jot to head to Tome Tower, it’ll be behind a tree and bushes in the middle of the next page.
- After solving the gate puzzle, you’ll meet Martina the vendor for the first time. You’ll purchase the next art scroll from her. IMPORTANT: You have to purchase each art scroll whenever it’s first available. Martina won’t carry a Chapter 1 art scroll when you meet her in Chapter 9, for example. They always cost 20 idea lightbulbs, so make sure you always have at least that many on you for when you next run into Martina.
- In Chapter 2 after climbing down the cliff and evading the boulders. The art scroll is hidden behind trees at the top of the page with the red bull.
- Bought from the vendor next time you meet Martina.
- Outside of Tome Tower, on the page that reads, “There was a strange electricity in the air.” Whack a tree on the bottom left side and out pops an art scroll.
- Purchased from the vendor after completing the dark cave level.
- Outside of Tome Tower on the pages with all the stacks of books. The art scroll is hidden amongst books behind some bushes on the lower left.
- In Chapter 3, this art scroll can be found behind a tree to the top right of Moonbeard’s house when grabbing his drink.
- This art scroll can actually be found before grabbing Moonbeard’s drink. After Jot leaps out of the book for the first time, head to the back of Sam’s desk. You’ll see what looks like a very long domino leaning against a tub of paint. Walk up the domino and keep jumping and climbing up towards the right where you’ll eventually come across a ruler. Walk across the ruler and you’ll spot the art scroll on the right.
- Purchased from Martina after completing the “huge insect” puzzle in Chapter 4.
- Hidden inside a whackable tree on the left side while working on the daytime/nighttime singing frogs puzzle.
- In Chapter 4’s cave. Jump into the black space above the arrow pointing to the exit to reveal a hidden room housing the art scroll.
- Found in the real world when Jot is searching for a ranged weapon. You’ll move a necessary block to progress the level to the right of the My Talkin’ Minibeard. As you move it, you’ll catch a glimpse of something glowing and floating. Walk back toward this area and Jot will come across the art scroll.
- Found after unlocking the castle in the real world. Head towards the top right of your screen. There will be a crevice by what looks like a clock (but is actually developer All Possible Futures’ logo). Wander in and Jot will pick up the scroll.
- Purchased from the vendor in town after the bow and arrow minigame.
- In the area right after Thrash and Violet get snatched by a bug, whack a tree on the lower left to reveal the art scroll.
- You might think you’ve missed this one as you play out the Artia City level, but it’s actually receivable after you find the next few. You’ll obtain this art scroll reward once you return all of Violet’s Uncle’s pigs.
- When in Artia City, enter the building that looks like a green and purple crayon next to Liza and Warhol to snag the art scroll.
- Bought from Martina in Artia City.
- Found in the real world in Chapter 5. Head to the area in the top right of the desk, defeat some enemies, and you should catch a glimpse of an art scroll floating in a cup that’s lying on its side.
- On Sam’s desk in Chapter 5, you’ll go up the ramp behind My Talkin’ Minibeard. Jump on the rubix cube and continue platforming towards the left of the level. You’ll hop down, defeat some goblins, and then go up across the book The Skies of My Dreams. Jump to the right and you’ll collect the art scroll.
- Inside the queen’s castle, this art scroll is placed behind a thumb tack on the top right of the page.
- Hidden inside a tree on the Trarrg Mountain pages where you must collect two keys. Launch Jot to the left and then launch Jot again to the top left corner of the level. Whack the tree and the art scroll will pop out.
- Purchased from Martina early on Trarrg Mountain.
- When Jot enters an inky black page that holds the cave entrance at Trarrg, head to the bottom right and the art scroll should be easily spotted.
- In the real world section after coming across the metal saw in the storybook. After Jot acquires Zip the jetpack, he must find three missing pieces of Zip’s father. On the left side of the level you’ll find a My Talkin’ Minibeard that tells you the part is close by. Don’t enter the portal yet – instead, use the jetpack to travel up the left side. Whack a tree and the art scroll will become available.
- In the same level, when searching for pieces of Zip’s father, you’ll come across a coffee mug where the Jelly King lives on the right side of the desk. Use the jet pack to land inside the mug and the scroll is yours.
- Located on top of the star projector where you acquire the third and final piece of Zip’s dad.
- Found during the level when you’re trying to fold up Gozzy in the dungeon-like area unlocked by throwing the bomb at the vines. After tilting the fractured pillar, retrace the steps on the left side around the upright pillar to find the hidden art scroll.
- Purchased from Martina on Trarrg Mountain after successfully getting past Gozzy the security system.
- In Chapter 7 you can purchase this art scroll from Martina after freeing the starfish from the sand.
- After defeating the enemies and making the hot air balloon float away in Chapter 7, you’ll advance to the next room where Violet will rejoin you. Temporary companion Tumbra will open a path to the right, and tucked away in the corner is an ‘X’ behind some rocks and a tree. Have Tumbra dig and you’ll be rewarded with an art scroll.
- After coming across some tanks in the book, Jot will travel to the real world to find an item to help. On the left side of the desk, defeat all the enemies to gain access to the coffee mug portal. Hop in and walk all the way around, past the amber orb you need, to find the art scroll.
- You’ll spot this art scroll in a 2D space as soon as you enter the ‘Jurassic Park.’ Progress the level to the right until you eventually hop into the giant orange dinosaur Anni’s back. Walk down her leg and claim your art scroll.
- After emerging from Anni, continue moving up the window sill. Instead of following the arrow to hop into the 2D dinosaur scene, walk all the way to the right and you’ll come across the art scroll.
- After acquiring the bomb stamp, go blow up the tanks and then head to the right of the page and blow up a metal block. The att scroll will now be available in the storybook world.
- In the cave level where you must use the bomb stamp to solve the puzzle and advance, the art scroll is located in a dark secret room directly across from the platform that leads to the exit.
- In Chapter 7, bought from the vendor in the level immediately after the cave with the bomb puzzle. Can’t miss her.
- In the opening area of Chapter 8. Once Private Crystal finishes telling you of Humgrump’s invasion of Artia, lead to the top left corner of the page. Whack the tree and you’ll be rewarded with an art scroll.
- After defeating Humpgrump’s forces in Artia City’s square, don’t go to the castle but instead to the right of the map. The art scroll is the building that’s a crayon head with a clock against it.
- To defeat Humgrump’s forces in Artia City, you’ll have to leave the book to blow up the tanks. You’re in the heat of battle, so you probably don’t have art scrolls on your mind, but there is one located on Sam’s desk. When outside of the book, wander to the right. You’ll come across some paint bottles and a stack of books. The art scroll is in plain view to the right of the books.
- Once the book changes and Jot leaves his cell in the Deep Doom, you’ll do a stealth section as Pip. Head to the right of the next page and you’ll find an art scroll by a table.
- Found in the real world after Jot leaves the prison to find all of his equipment. After re-acquiring the tilt gauntlets, walk to the right and the art scroll will be behind some bottles of paint.
- After Jot obtains all his items, you’ll go through a 2D section where you have to dodge lasers. On the other side of this will be a stretch of the desk occupied by beetles. Defeat them and the art scroll will be at the very end of the corridor.
- This art scroll was visible at the very start of the level when you’re searching for Jot’s gear. Now that you have his sword, walk to the edge of the desk, knock down the trees, and collect the scroll.
- Back in the storybook, you’ll come across a puzzle with metal blocks and a broken slime pipe. Use the stop stamp and tilt ability outside the book to arrange the blocks so that you can walk across them to the broken pipe. Take the word BROKEN to the Humgrump statue in the other room. Break the statue and you’ll find an art scroll. This will also unlock the ‘Bust Buster’ achievement.
- After freeing Thrash in the Deep Doom, you’ll purchase the next scroll from the vendor.
- Found in the Deep Doom on the spread where you must fold the book to transfer a pipe between pages. Outside of the book, use the bomb stamp to explode a block on the left and the art scroll will be revealed.
- After the final Pip minigame, you’ll purchase this art scroll from Martina.
- The final art scroll is found outside of Humgrump’s palace after hearing his backstory from Pip. Strike the tree second from the right and the art scroll will pop out.
