As seen in my latest guide, finding the best weapons and armor is always a top priority in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. You may have noticed there are open slots available on various chest armor, gloves, boots, and gloves. These slots are for Glyphs.
These are for Glyphs which add bonuses to your socketed body gear. Some may represent and enhance one of the various Signs so when you’re in combat, you may get an added bonus.

Here in this guide you’ll find:
Glyphs
When you loot chests, bags, and corpses you can find glyphs. Other times you can purchase them from the various shopkeepers throughout the Northern Realm. These will add an enchantment that are degree specific and will increase Sign ability bonuses. There are two types of glyphs: Lesser and Greater.
The Glyph of Infusion (rating: Magic) is required to enchant a piece of armor as it’s the base component to crafting Lesser Glyphs. When disassembled, it provides silk (1), powdered pearl (1), feather (1), and Monstrous blood (1).
When other glyphs are disassembled, Lesser Glyphs (rating: Magic) will provide silk (1); and Greater Glyphs (rating: Relic) will provide both silk (1) and infused dust (2).

Glyph Diagram Crafting
Since Glyphs are important, you’ll need to have them for the added bonuses. It’s nice to know that you don’t just have to search for them. You can certainly purchase them from the various shopkeepers throughout the Northern Realms, but at those exploited prices who’d want to?
Diagrams will be your new best friend! You can find them throughout the game or purchase them from the various shopkeepers. When you need them made, just head over to an Armorer.
Each of the Diagrams below require Journeyman level craftsmen.
