Minecraft has many items to collect, craft, and build with. However, if you’ve been playing for a while, you might’ve seen everything there is. Luckily, there are plenty of mods to improve or even add new items to change up the game. Here are the top 10 best Minecraft item mods.
Minecraft: Best Item Mods
Tinkers’ Construct
Tinkers’ Construct lets you forge the ultimate tool, combining materials for unique stats and customization. Mix materials like diamonds and obsidian to get the ultimate mining tool. I appreciate how complex using the Tool Station is since it makes it easy to see the exact states your tool will get.
Thermal Expansion
I always found smelting ore tedious and not much fun. Thermal Expansion adds brand-new furnaces and other machines you can power with engines to automate almost any task. I was able to make an entire factory that processed and organized all of the resources I mined. There are also different ores to mine, like silver, to make silver items and tools.
The Builders’ Tools
As long as I’ve played Minecraft, I’ve never been the best builder. With The Builders’ Tools mod, the building has never been more accessible. With new tools, you can select entire builds and copy, rotate, or even destroy them all with one click. My favorite feature is that you can build an entire foundation. It allows me to still build whatever I want without the mundane task of placing down every single block.
Quark
The Quark mod seeks to add to the vanilla experience. It adds new trees, decorative blocks and furniture, and even some new mobs like the Toretoises, tortoises that grow ore on their backs. It enriches the world and adds features that make you think, “Why wasn’t this already here.”
Chisel & Bits
As creative as Minecraft is, everything being a block can be limiting. The Chisel & Bits mod gives you the Chisel item that lets you make blocks into any shape you want. This will set your creativity to the next level. There are no limitations to how intricate you want to be.
The Endergetic Expansion
I always found the End somewhat disappointing. However, The Endergetic Expansion changes it completely! This mod improves every aspect of the End by adding a brand new biome to explore, filled with mobs and materials to create even stronger tools, armor, and other items.
The Spice of Life
Have you ever wanted more food in Minecraft? The Spice of Life mod revamps the entirety of cooking and hunger mechanics. This mod adds new foods and different cooking methods, making it more immersive. It also forces you to cook and eat different foods since eating the same food multiple times will reduce hunger by a lesser amount.
Just Enough Items
Just Enough Items, or JEI, provides a clean and intuitive interface for browsing recipes, searching items, and viewing crafting uses, making inventory management and item discovery a breeze. This is one of my favorite mods since I always know what I need at a glance.
Storage Drawers
Storage Drawers is a mod that revolutionizes how you organize your loot. Craft drawers of various sizes and materials, each dedicated to a single item type. Say goodbye to cluttered chests! I’m always disorganized, so making dedicated drawers is a big help. Categorize items intuitively, filter them instantly, and easily access them, transforming your base into a haven of tidiness and efficiency.
MrCrayfish’s Furniture Mod
Spruce up your home with MrCrayfish’s Furniture Mod! Over 80 unique pieces of furniture transform your builds, from cozy living rooms with couches and tables to functional kitchens with sinks and stoves. Beyond decoration, enjoy working mailboxes, functional showers, and even a diving board for some aquatic fun! I’m able to craft the perfect furniture to help make any house feel like a real home.
