Some might argue all the best weapons in Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate Daemonhunters are melee due to their higher power, but a number of ranged weapons are powerful as well and deserve mention.
This guide will list only the best weapons in Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate Daemonhunters, both melee and ranged. You will also learn which upgrades you should apply, and which classes wield these weapons in the most effective ways.
Chaos Gate Daemonhunters: Best Ranged Weapons
Storm Bolter
This double-barrel version of the specialist bolter weapon is a perfect mid-range choice against infantry and easily among the best weapons.
The Storm Bolter consumes a lot of ammo due to its high fire rate, but you can also charge your individual shots and stun enemies. Typically you get 4 damage per shot, which equals 12 points per usual triple shot.
This is the favorite choice of the Interceptor class, who can use it highly effectively alongside its Teleportation skill and Critical Damage upgrade.
Psycannon
Here is another iteration of the bolter weapon, which is more closely related to Heavy Bolter, and utilizes high caliber bolts.
This is one of the best weapons for hitting daemons due to its psychic source of damage, especially if you charge its AoE with a grenade to wipe out a mob group.
Each shot with Psycannon delivers 5 points of damage, so you get 15 damage per triple shot, or more if you have the Auto Reload.
Purgator and Justicar classes are the best fit for this weapon.
Psilencer
The other psychic weapon on our list is the Psilencer, which may lack in Overwatch, but compensates with the ability to hit targets at a much longer range than Storm Bolter or Psycannon.
This weapon is just as good at shorter range, especially if you need to blast a group of enemies with AoE.
For example, Purgator armed with a Psilencer and Astral Aim can do so much damage that you may not even bother with any other additional set ups.
Chaos Gate Daemonhunters: Best Melee Weapons
Daemonhammer
A new variant of the infamous two-handed hammer has been introduced in Chaos Gate Daemonhunters to some fantastic reactions from the community.
Daemonhammer infused with the power of a Warp that can produce up to 6 points of stun damage, making it a perfect solution for the endgame content where things get serious. It’s easily among the best weapons for melee.
The Paladin class equipped with such weapon, plus Warp Surge and Iron Arm can easily go for the execution playstyle, decapitating cultists and daemons left and right.
Force Sword
This one-handed melee weapon has the highest parry chance in the game of 50%. If you combine it with any melee buff, and a Storm Bolter in your other hand, then you will have no problem dealing damage and probably staying safe.
You can use it effectively with the Paladin class with the Fury of the Ancients psychic power, which will be able to deliver significant critical hits alongside a solid parry game.
If you feel that you need more protection during melee combat, simply put a shield in your other hand.
Falchion
The only other decent one-handed alternative to the Force Sword is Falchion. Many players opt for a Falchion in both hands for some truly devastating attacks.
A fully upgraded Falchion not only increases your critical hit chance by 40%, but also restores your AP, and ultimately adds extra points to your stun damage.
If you can get a Mastercrafted Falchion, then you will be able to slice 8 targets in a single sweep.
Narthecium
Although Narthecium can be used by the Apothecary class, mainly for healing and reviving allies, it is still one of the best weapons for combat weapons in the game.
It has bonus damage against non-mechanical targets, and you can use its chainblade to perform a downward cut strike for some fun decapitation sequences.
Of course, if you want to use Narthecium as your melee weapon, then you will need a Terminator armor with Willpower, or your Apothecary won’t survive for too long.
