While playing Call of Duty: Warzone, you’ll likely come across a myriad of weapons and equipment you don’t normally use in the traditional multiplayer modes. That’s sort of the beauty of Warzone. One piece of equipment you should absolutely learn how to use is C4, which can be used to set traps or just straight-up thrown at an enemy to take them out quickly and efficiently.
In this Warzone C4 guide, we’ll show you how to find C4, how to throw it farther, and how to detonate it faster.
Warzone C4 Guide: How to Throw C4 Farther, Detonate It Faster
How to Get C4 in Call of Duty: Warzone
Unlike traditional Modern Warfare multiplayer, Infinity Ward doesn’t let you spawn in with the loadout of your choice in Warzone, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get your hands on C4.
The easiest way to get C4 is to simply find it out in the world. You’ll likely come across a stash of weapons and items in boxes, so make sure you initiate contracts to ensure finding the best loot.
C4 can be found in common boxes, as well as on its own in Verdansk. It’s recommended to prioritize visiting buildings and other main hubs to try and find some. When you do find it, you have to manually pick it up with “Square” on PS4 or “X” on Xbox One.
Alternatively, you can equip your own loadouts from Loadout Drops that spawn. Just make sure you have C4 added to the class beforehand. Loadout Drops spawn randomly or can be purchased from Buy Stations, though they’re pretty expensive.
How to Throw C4 Farther
After you finally do get your hands on the C4, you’ll be ready to use it. It works a lot like a grenade, in that it can be thrown at an enemy, but it only detonates if you pull the trigger.
There are lots of ways to use C4 effectively, but most players treat it like a manual grenade thrown at an enemy and detonated right away. C4 does massive amounts of damage and, if used properly, can be more effective than a grenade since you can throw and detonate it immediately.
To throw C4 farther, jump in the air and look up at a 45-degree angle. This will allow the C4 to arc and cover more ground. Throwing it far isn’t always necessary, though.
In fact, sometimes you’ll need to throw it right beside you to take out an enemy. If you do, make sure you get out of the way since C4 has a large damage radius.
One useful strategy is to place a C4 on a loadout drop in a heavily populated area and wait for the enemy to show up. It can be tricky to pull off, but if done correctly, it’s pretty much a guaranteed kill. Traps like these work better in the traditional multiplayer mode, but can still be executed in Warzone.
How to Detonate C4 Faster
Initially, you might want to throw the C4 and detonate it by pulling the trigger. This can be done by throwing it with “R1” on PS4 or “RB” on Xbox One, followed by “R2” or “RT.”
However, there is a faster, more effective way to secure the kill. If you double-tap “Square” on PS4 or “X” on Xbox One after throwing the C4, it will detonate instantly, which is much faster than pulling the trigger.
If you’re going to use this method, make sure you wait until you’re out of its blast radius, as you can down yourself with your own C4 if you’re too close.
