So you’ve killed a Steel Watcher and are wondering what to do with the Enriched Infernal Iron in BG3 you looted from them. Don’t confuse it with Infernal Iron used for Karlach and the Flawed Helldusk Armor. So what is Enriched Infernal Iron for in Baldur’s Gate 3?
Enriched Infernal Iron BG3 Explained
Enriched Infernal Iron in BG3 is found in single stacks on Steel Watchers as random loot. Unlike Infernal Iron, which we can use to upgrade Karlach’s Infernal Engine or craft the Flawed Helldusk set via Dammon, the Enriched Infernal version doesn’t have much crafting use. You can’t make anything with it in the base game (not counting mods).
That said, it’s not without its uses. You can sell it to any merchant for quite a bit of gold. Its base value is 100 gold, and the more Persuasion you have, the more you can sell it for. It’s one of the best wares you can find in Act 3, so I recommend using the “Add to Wares” option whenever you find it.
On the other hand, if you are on PC and are using mods, then you can use Enriched Infernal Iron with the Sussur Weapons Expanded mod to craft legendary gear. It’s a great mod that expands the most interesting aspect of the Blighted Village, the Masterwork Forge. Once you have the mod installed, the recipe is as follows:
- You need a very rare anvil from the mod.
- Sussur Bark.
- Your chosen weapon type with a +2 enhancement.
- The Thirsting version of the Sussur weapon.
- Enriched Infernal Iron.
Using the Enriched Infernal Iron, you can combine all of these to craft a Ravenous version of your weapon type.
