As you’re working through the Great Underpass of Ginza, you’ll come across the Shin Megami Tensei 3 bill quest. One of the Manikins requests a bill, as in money, in exchange for a letter allowing you to proceed through the other side of the underpass.
The trouble is, there’s not much guidance on what the bill is or where to find it. This guide tells you where to find a bill in Shin Megami Tensei 3 and what to prepare yourself for afterward.
Where to Find a Bill Shin Megami Tensei 3
From the Underpass Amala Link room, take the save room teleporter back to Ginza. You’ll find the bill in the back room of Nyx’s bar, though Loki won’t let you through. There’s a hard-to-spot third entrance to Ginza nearby that lets you in the back room.
Exit the underground shopping area, and turn northeast at the Ginza intersection. I’ve circled the area where the entrance is, in case you have a difficult time seeing the dull red flashing entrance.
Before you go in, make sure you’re ready for a moderately difficult boss fight with Troll after you grab the bill.
The entrance leads to a short corridor with the door to Nyx’s back room at the end. Go in, and grab everything inside. Troll is waiting for you when you leave.
Shin Megami Tensei 3 Troll Fight
Troll is weak to status effects and uses Mabufula, a strong, multi-target ice attack, plus Rebellion, a multi-hit physical attack. By this point you won’t have a Magatama resistant to ice. Just make sure you keep the Demi-Fiend healed and don’t bring demons weak to ice, such as Hua Po.
Adding Jack Frost to your party is a good idea if your level is high enough to fuse or scout it. Absorbing ice automatically ends Troll’s turn, plus Jack Frost’s lullaby skill can temporarily put Troll to sleep and make critical hits easier.
Troll has high HP, so it’s potentially going to be a long fight. It runs out of MP after several turns and will only use Rebellion at that point.
After receiving the letter and entering the Underpass tunnels, you’ll start a much more difficult boss fight almost immediately, with Matador. Buy Hifumi from the Junk Shop and ingest it, bring Force-resistant demons, and use evasion-boosting skills.
That’s it for our Shin Megami Tensei 3 bill guide, but make sure to check out our other Shin Megami Tensei 3 guides for more fiendishly good tips.
