The Guardian Games All-Stars is here in Destiny 2, pitting Guardian classes against each other in friendly competition once again. Key to progression during the event is your Medallion Case, but like other even containers, knowing where to find it is trickier than it should be.
Medallion Case Location During Guardian Games All-Stars in Destiny 2
Rather than going into your inventory, where it could, I suppose, somehow be deleted, the Medallion Case now lives in your Quest Tab in the Director.
To reach Medallion Case, open your Character screen, then navigate one tab to the left. When you first get the Medallion Case, it should be at or near the top of your Quest inventory. The Case itself holds a limited number of each Medallion type: five Bronze and Silver, and three Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. Earning Medallions over the Case’s limit won’t award anything, meaning you need to return to the Tower regularly to bank your Medallions and track your class’s progress in the competition.
If you remember The Dawning from earlier this year and late last year, you’ll recall that Eva’s Oven moved to a different location than it had in previous years. The same thing happened to the Medallion Case during Guardian Games All-Stars.
How to Earn Medallions During Guardian Games All-Stars in Destiny 2
There are two main ways to earn Medallions during Guardian Games All-Stars in Destiny 2: Contender Cards and high-scoring Guardian Games activities while wearing a GG class item. From the Tower Director, you can launch a selection of Guardian Games-specific playlists:
- Recreational – a relatively easy Vanguard Ops playlist that’s just for fun. Don’t expect to get high scores here, but it’s good for grinding bounties, catalysts, and everything else that works in Strikes.
- Competitive Nightfalls – which, as you might expect, are Nightfall Strikes with a Guardian Games twist. You should be at least 1770 Power with a solid build to do well here, as your Power is capped at 1765, and there are Champions and other Nightfall modifiers to deal with.
- Supremacy – where you collect enemy and allied Crests to score and prevent the enemy from Scoring.
- Class vs. Class Gambit – It’s Gambit. Do with that what you will.
Competitive Nightfalls are probably the best and most rewarding activities, as Exotic armor drops and Nightfall-specific weapon drops are fairly common. Reaching specific score thresholds ensures you get a corresponding Medallion at the activity’s end.
Completing Contender Cards, special Guardian Games All-Stars Bounties available from Eva in the Tower, requires you to perform specific tasks to receive the corresponding Medallion reward. Most Contender Cards award Gold Medallions, but Platinum and Diamond are also available for much more difficult activities like Raids, Dungeons, and other endgame content.
That’s everything you need to know about where to find the Medallion Case in Guardian Games All-Stars in Destiny 2. It’s not the most complicated part of the event, but I admit, it took me more than a few minutes to figure it out, though that’s probably a personal problem.
