Unlike Hades and Zeus, Poseidon isn’t a boss you can challenge in Fortnite. Instead, you can choose to hire him as an ally. I like having some extra firepower with me, especially while playing solos, and he’s my go-to pick. Here’s where to find Poseidon and hire him.
Where to Find Poseidon in Fortnite
Poseidon is most well known for being the god of the sea, so one would assume he’d be somewhere along the coast of the island, maybe even on a beach. However, that is not the case at all for Fortnite‘s version of the god. Instead, you’ll find him at the POI, Reckless Railways.
At Reckless Railways, you’ll want to head inside the central train station and to the upper side. Poseidon wanders back and forth and up and down the main staircase. There, you can speak to him, but you’ll only have a few options for interaction: buy a Warforged AR, Chug Splashes, or hire him as an ally.
How to Hire Poseidon
To interact with Poseidon, approach him and press X, Square, or E on him. Then, you’ll see the options pop up in the dialogue wheel. Select the “Hire Poseidon” option, symbolized by the silhouette and plus sign, to recruit him. It’ll cost you 250 Gold Coins.
Keep in mind that once you hire him, you won’t be able to interact with him again, so if you want to purchase a gun or Chug, do so before hiring him. Once he’s hired, he’ll stick with you until he is eliminated (either by the storm or by other players).
If you need some quick Gold Bars, you can complete one of the Shadow Briefing challenges nearby or loot some cash registers in the buildings around Reckless Railways.
What Does Poseidon Do After Hiring Him in Fortnite?
Poseidon is one of the best allies you can hire in the game right now. He is a Heavy Specialist, which means he uses heavier artillery, such as shotguns and grenades. He actually uses three different weapons, which is very rare for an NPC character. He can use a Warforged AR at far range, a silenced shotgun up close, and throw out 2-3 grenades randomly. He excels at close-quarters combat thanks to his shotgun and explosives.
The only downside to Poseidon carrying grenades is that he can be pretty chaotic with them. His throws aren’t entirely accurate, and if you’re not careful, you can find yourself receiving the brunt of them. They can still hurt you even if he is your ally. Most of the time, you can avoid this from happening as long as you aren’t standing right next to the enemy he is throwing them toward.
Overall, Poseidon is a great ally on your side, especially if you’re playing solos. You’ll have an advantage with two vs one combat and his explosives distracting the enemies.
