Wild Bastards Feuds, Pals, and Beans Explained

Beans will resolve any Feuds

Wild Bastards has you assemble a whole band of Outlaws and misfits who must work together to escape from their pursuers. However, such a wide range of personalities aboard a small ship makes it hard for everyone to get along. That’s where the Feud and Pal system comes in and why it’s so important to know how to get Beans in Wild Bastards.

What are Feuds and Pals in Wild Bastards?

Sometimes your Outlaws will have a disagreement with each other that will result in them fighting and feuding. This happens during key story moments but can also happen at random. In particular, whenever you return from a planet, there’s a fairly high chance of some of your Bunches feuding amongst themselves. When two Outlaws are feuding they can no longer be sent down to a planet together. This means you need to resolve Feuds as soon as possible, especially when your crew size is limited.

However, if two Outlaws seem to be getting along, they will turn into Pals. Pals who are deployed together in a Showdown will provide each other with perks like health drops, use their stunts, and other methods of aid. Sometimes Outlaws will automatically become Pals, for example when you rescue a Scattered Outlaw or when you save them from Jail. You can check the Pal bonus by hovering on the character on the Feuds and Pals screen.

How to Resolve Feuds

The only way to resolve Feuds is by using a Can of Beans and sharing it between two Feuding Outlaws. This will resolve their conflict and set their status to Neutral. If two Outlaws are currently in a Neutral Status, you can have them share Beans to turn them into Pals. Turning two Outlaws you plan on sending down together into Pals is a good idea as they’ll provide bonuses to each other. Your Beans get erased when you leave a Sector, so be sure to always use them before ending a Sector.

How to Get Beans in Wild Bastards

Getting Beans is incredibly important in times of Feuds and keeping a few on you in case of emergency is also wise. So here are a few methods on how to find and get Beans quickly in Wild Bastards:

  • Collect them from Can of Bean nodes around the map. Some planets will have Beans listed explicitly as a reward, but others can have them Spawn at random. Keep an eye out for the Golden Can node.
  • You can buy Beans from the shop that spawns on planets. Each shop lets you buy one Can of Beans as long as you have the Cramm for it. They will usually cost 500 Cramm if no modifier is present.

  • Look out for Bean Event nodes on the Sector map. Some purple event nodes on the Sector map will mention that the area is ripe for bean harvesting or that the creatures here will reward you with Beans. Hopalong guarantees extra Bean drops from these Bean event sectors.
  • Breaching Vaults can also reward you with Beans. Some maps will spawn the Vault icon and looting this has a chance of rewarding you with Beans. However, this will also spawn a dangerous Posse of enemies that will track you down.

  • You can also get Beans from the Hole in the Wall event at the start of every sector. If you had enough Infamy, Beans might drop as a reward.
