It’s easy to get lost in vanilla World of Warcraft. I know, because I lose my way constantly. But objective markers and waypoints are quality-of-life features that make leveling a breeze. Should You Install Questie in WoW Classic Season of Discovery?

If you’ve wanted to track more quests or see which mobs you need to kill on the map, the Questie addon is perfect. It features start and turn-in points, party member progress, and more. Additionally, it stays regularly updated since it’s so popular to use.

The thing about addons, though, is that downloading and updating them can be confusing. For a good while, I avoided using them in Classic and retail WoW just to avoid the hassle. But I’m happy to say that it’s not all that bad. In fact, once you have them set up, updating them will often take less than five minutes.

When it comes to managing your addons, you have a couple of options, all of which I’ll cover. Feel free to use the quick links below for your preferred method.

How to Get Questie for WoW Season of Discovery

Download the Lastest Version of Questie

The easiest way to grab the latest Questie version is to download it yourself. Here’s how:

  • Go to the Questie page on GitHub.
  • Choose the latest release and download the zip file for it.

Install Questie

Installing Questie is much like applying other WoW addons. For the uninitiated, here’s what you’ll do:

  • Extract the zip file that you downloaded.
  • Go to your AddOns folder, which should be under C:Program Files (x86) World of Warcraft if you’re running Windows.
  • For Questie to work specifically in Season of Discovery, you need to access “_classic_era” since it won’t recognize the addon if you have it under “_classic_”
  • So, go to “_classic_era” and select the “Interface” folder.
  • From there, choose AddOns and copy the Questie folder into it.

Now, you can log in to WoW Classic: SoD to enable the addon in your character log-in screen. You’ll follow this same process when it comes to updating it. The latest version is always available via the GitHub page, letting you directly download the file, as detailed above.

If you have an out-of-date version, it’s likely you’ll run across annoying bugs, or it simply won’t work when you enter the game, so stay on top of your installs. You can also report any bugs you come across to the authors of the addon, but you’ll need a GitHub account to do so.

How to Use a WoW Addon Manager

If you’d like to focus on gaming more than managing your addons, you can have a client do all the work for you. The most popular one is definitely the CurseForge Client, which can handle Questie and other addons.

To do so, you’ll need to download the CurseForge app on Windows, Mac, or Linux. Then, you can browse available addons, install the ones you want, and turn on auto-updates to ensure you’re never running an out-of-date version of them.
