I found having the power of the mighty Goron at Link’s disposal to be a near-requirement before trying to find this hidden challenge.

Kyokugon Shrine Location

You can find this Shrine inside a cave near the Great Plateau North Chasm at coordinates (-0710, -1550, 0006). The fastest way I found to get here is to travel to the Hyrule Field tower and then travel south on foot. You’ll know you are near the right cave when you see Addison trying to put up one of President Hudson’s signs.

Once you have discovered the Great Plateau Foothill Cave here you will see the way forward is blocked with boulders. There are layers of rock here that you shouldn’t waste bombs or hammer weapon durability on. You can, but I came here after finishing the Fire Temple and found it easy to use Yunobo’s ability to easily break through this rock tunnel.

You will run into a couple Horriblins in the cave on the way to the Shrine. Defeat them and continue, since its a pretty linear path, and you will arrive at the Kyokugon Shrine shortly.

Once inside the Shrine, there is just one large puzzle to complete. On the ground you will see there are 10 divots where you can drop in metallic balls. There are four spheres that you must put in the correct locations. To figure out the solution, simple look at the ceiling.

You can see that there are four green circles on the ceiling that mirror where you need to place the balls. Do so like I did in the photo above and the door to the Shrine’s reward chamber will open. But before you exit the shrine, be sure to look around this chamber for the Shrine’s chest.

Kyokugon Shrine Chest Location

Look to your right in this room to see a gated door leading to a room with the chest. Right next to it is a pedestal holding another sphere. Use Ultrahand to see that one of the nearby floor panels is able to be lifted up. Underneath will be a secret divot that you can place a sphere into. Doing so will open the gate.

You’ll be glad you did so since the chest contains a Hearty Elixir, which will fully restore your health and give you bonus hearts to top you off.
