If you’ve been able to pull the Master Sword out of the Light Dragon’s head in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, then you know that on its own it’s a pretty underwhelming weapon, albeit technically unbreakable. Fortunately, you can Fuse it with other materials to make it a lot stronger. Our guide will show you what materials are the best for fusing with the Master Sword, including tips on how to get them in TotK.
Best Fuse Items for Master Sword in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Silver Lynel Horns
The most powerful Fuse item for Master Sword that you can get in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the horn of Silver Lynel, which adds +55 ATK. Taking into account the base 30 ATK of the Master Sword, it adds up to 85 ATK total power, which will easily make it one of the most powerful weapons in the game.
Silver Lynels are fierce creatures influenced by Calamity Ganon’s dark magic, which makes them the strongest of all Lynel creatures across Hyrule. Players can use Lynel Mask or Majora’s Mask to disguise themselves and trick Silver Lynels. Since they use fire weapons, I strongly recommend bringing the Fireproof Elixir to this battle, too.
You can find Silver Lynels inside the Great Abandoned Central Mine, which can be accessed via the Temple of Time Ruins (-0822, -2026, 0119) in South Hyrule. I marked the entrance point with the red circle on the map above. Once you’re inside the mine, go to these coordinates to encounter Silver Lynels:
- Floating Coliseum (-1097, -1249, -0499)
- Crenel Canyon (1084, -0267, -0466)
Gleeok Horns
If you’re can’t beat Silver Lynels just yet, then the next best option would be to take out one of the Gleeoks that drop horns capable of adding +30 ATK to your Master Sword once Fused. There are actually four Gleeok monsters in the game: Flame Gleeok, Frost Gleeok, Thunder Gleeok, and King Gleeok. The latter one combines all three elements on each of its three heads.
Note that it doesn’t matter which of these types you defeat to get the horns, as all of them work in the same way when Fused with the Master Sword. Here are the locations of all four types:
- Frost Gleeok:
- Biron Snowshelf (-3743, 2992, 0397)
- Gerudo Summit (-4024, -0956, 0709)
- Tabantha Tundra (-1835, 3009, 0249)
- Flame Gleeok:
- Ancient Columns (-3625, 0420, 0260)
- Spectacle Rock (-2115, -2640, 0402)
- Bridge of Hylia (-0047, -2491, 0040)
- Thunder Gleeok:
- Coliseum Ruins (-1150, -1263, 0047)
- Herin Lake (1059, -3614, 0079)
- South Akkala Plains (3423, 1298, 0338)
- King Gleeok:
- West Hebra Sky Archipelago (-4471, 2275, 1285)
- South Necluda Sky Archipelago (4652, -3724, 1097)
- Gleeok Den (0334, 3122, -0569)
Diamonds
Lastly, those of you who don’t want to deal with any particularly strong creatures should opt for mining diamonds and fusing them with the Master Sword for bonus +25 ATK. You can find diamond ore inside various caves with rare gems around Hyrule, but the best and easiest way is to find diamonds inside treasure chests at the following coordinates:
- Hyrule Castle (-0254, 0762, 0088)
- Abandoned Hebra Mine (-3497, 1849, -0416)
