Here's our guide to help you complete the Zanmik Shrine Scoop It Out puzzle in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Scoop It Out puzzle in the Zanmik Shrine makes use of a large wheel to gather objects. There’s a normal and obvious way to reach the end of the Scoop It Out puzzle, but it’s slower and less efficient. Instead, we’ll cover a faster way to cheese the Shrine and reach the altar with less effort. Zanmik Shrine Location

The Zanmik Shrine can be found on the outskirts of Hateno Village in the Necluda region. You’ll want to visit if you plan on obtaining Purah Pad upgrades like the Shrine Sensor and Sensor+. This Shrine location is quite far from most Skyview Towers, though you can either glide southwest from Mount Lanayru or northeast from Rabella Wetlands.

TotK Zanmik Shrine Scoop It Out Puzzle Walkthrough

The Scoop It Out puzzle cheese for the Zanmik Shrine will help you get around some of the area’s more laborious sections.

Upon entering the Zanmik Shrine, you’ll notice that a large portion of the chamber is below you. Head down to the beginning of the TotK Scoop It Out puzzle to see a giant wheel, along with a battery, several metal plates, and dozens of orbs/balls (akin to a ball pit).

Tears of the Kingdom Zanmik Shrine Puzzle Normal Solution

The normal way to solve this puzzle requires the following:

  • Place a plate along the line connecting the battery to the wheel, allowing it to conduct electricity.
  • Create a “scooper” structure using the plates. This can be attached to the wheel so that it starts scooping all the orbs.
  • At least one orb must be moved to the top, where it’ll roll into the bullseye target.

How to Cheese the TotK Scoop It Out Puzzle

I suggest just ignoring the regular mechanics for the Scoop It Out puzzle. Instead, we can cheese this whole thing and reach the Light of Blessing at the end of the Zanmik Shrine faster. You’ll want to do the following:

  • Attach one ball to a plate.
  • Attach that plate horizontally to the giant wheel (the indentations should be good spots).
  • Next, attach a second plate on the opposite side of the wheel.
  • Use Ultrahand on the second plate. Then, move the Ultrahand placement and Link them together. This will, surprisingly, cause the wheel to rotate.

Soon, you’ll notice that the first plate is rising to the top, along with the ball you just attached. It will hit a snag on the upper floor, but that’s fine. Go back there and detach the ball with Ultrahand. Simply plop it into the bullseye target to turn the light green.

Once you’ve done the above, the doorway will open. This will complete the TotK Scoop It Out puzzle for the Zanmik Shrine. But there’s more to get here.

How to Get the Scoop It Out Puzzle Treasure Chest

Remember that ball pit from before? Simply spam Ultrahand’s attach action on the whole lot. You’ll then be able to lift large clumps of them, and you’ll find the chest partially buried underneath.

And that’s how to complete the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Scoop It Out puzzle in the Zanmik Shrine. There are plenty more Shrine challenges and puzzles in the game. For tips and walkthroughs, visit our Zelda: TotK guides hub.
