Exploit and Glitch Requirements

To dupe infinite hearts and stamina food in TotK, you’ll want to take note of a few requirements:

  • A type of ingredient with an effect that you want to maximize – For instance, healing and gaining temporary hearts would mean choosing a Big Hearty Truffle or Big Hearty Radish.
  • A vendor NPC that sells cooked food – You can find these NPCs in Kakariko Village, Kara Kara Bazaar, and Gerudo Town. I’m going to use Gerudo Town for this example. The coordinates are: -3881, -2691, 0123.
  • The cooked food must not be in your inventory – If the vendor is selling a Charred Steak and you already have one, then you’ll have to eat it so that there’s nothing left in your inventory.

How to Do the Infinite Hearts and Stamina Food Dupe Method in TotK

Once you’ve reached the location, make sure you have enough of the ingredient that you want to make a meal out of. In my case, I cooked five Big Hearty Truffles, which gave me a Hearty Mushroom Skewer. Here are the next steps:

  • Do not sort your inventory. Make sure that the Hearty Mushroom Skewer is at the bottom of the tab.
  • Eat the food you just cooked (i.e., Hearty Mushroom Skewer).
  • Buy a food item being sold by the vendor (i.e., Seared Prime Steak).
  • You’ll notice that the Seared Prime Steak has the same effects as the Hearty Mushroom Skewer. Again, do not sort your inventory, and make sure that the Seared Prime Steak is at the bottom of the tab.
  • Make a fire (not a cooking pot), and place a bunch of Raw Prime Steak on it.
  • Once they turn into Seared Prime Steak, pick them up. You’ll realize that they, too, have the same glitched healing values.
  • Repeat the above step by making as many Seared Prime Steaks as you want, and they’ll all retain the glitched healing amount.

Other Food and Ingredient Suggestions

The Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom infinite hearts and stamina food dupe method works on a variety of meals and ingredients. The important thing here is that you’re able to buy cooked food from a merchant, which will then be used for the glitched.

I suggest trying out the following ingredients to help you on your journey:

  • Endura Carrots for boosted stamina.
  • Sundelion to cleanse Gloom.
  • Spicy Pepper and Chillshroom, respectively, for cold resistance and heat resistance.
  • Mighty Bananas and Razorshroom for attack buffs.

Likewise, if you want to keep using this trick, you’ll need to disable automatic updates to avoid patches that will end up fixing this. You can do this via the Nintendo Switch’s home screen -> Settings -> Automatic Update: Off.
