How to Get Sound of a Drum for Great Fairy Cotera in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Similar to other Great Fairy side quests, you’ll need to unlock Tera’s Fountain before the Cotera side quest becomes available. If you do meet the requirements, then it’s time to find the Drummer or the Sound of a Drum for Great Fairy Cotera in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. To give you a general idea, I’ve included a map below showing where your journey will take you:

Dueling Peaks Stable

Make your way to the Dueling Peaks Stable in the Necluda region (the closest fast travel point is Eshos Shrine). The coordinates are: 1754, -1952, 0010. Mastro and co., won’t have a Drummer, so they ask you to find one.

Beetz: Honey Bee Mine

The Drummer, Beetz, can be found in Bonooru’s Stand. From Kakariko Village/Makasura Shrine, follow the sloping path southeast through the ravine. Once you reach the end, there’s an opening that leads to a ridge where Beetz is waiting for you. The coordinates are: 2166, -1389, 0108.

Talk to Beetz and he’ll ask for 3 Courser Bee Honey. Tera gave me these after I completed her quest. If you still have the required items, you should be good to go. If not, then you’ll have to obtain them.

The closest location is the forest north of Kakariko Village, which is also close to a Chasm opening. If you spot one on a tree, make sure you take a photo of it, so you can track it with the Purah Pad Sensor+ upgrade. Likewise, watch out since bees will sting Link and cause minimal damage, too.

In any case, hand over the honeycombs to Beetz and you’ll be done with this task. You’ll have the Sound of a Drum for Great Fairy Cotera in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Fixing Breezer and Meeting Great Fairy Cotera in TotK

Upon returning to Dueling Peaks Stable, Mastro tells you that the bridge is in disrepair. Follow them to the river and talk to Mastro again. This will let you combine and attach some objects. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Place the wooden board flat on the ground.
  • Add two Fans at the back (facing outward).
  • Add a Battery and a Steering Stick on the top surface.
  • Attach the wagon to the top surface as well.

Once the troupe has boarded your makeshift boat, sail it downriver to Cotera’s Fountain. After the cutscene, you’ll unlock Great Fairy Cotera in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, giving you access to a higher tier of armor upgrades. Don’t forget to unlock the other Great Fairies in the game, too. We discuss these objectives in our guides for Great Fairy Mija and Great Fairy Kaysa. Likewise, you can learn other mechanics about this massive game in our Zelda: TotK guides hub.
