Deltarune, the follow up to Undertale, was released in two chapters, with Chapter 2 having released just recently after a long gap between the two. You can use your Chapter 1 save file to continue onto Chapter 2, though you don’t have to do so.
This guide will provide you with tips on how to locate your save files for Deltarune Chapter 1 to use in Chapter 2 on PC.
Deltarune: Save File Locations
Having old save files is good for keeping your old inventory and influencing certain points in the story.
If you still have Deltarune Chapter 1 saved on your hard drive, then follow these steps to transfer your save files to Chapter 2:
- Go to “C:Users[USERNAME]AppDataLocalDELTARUNE” folder on your PC
- Check for files “file_ch2_1“, “file_ch2_2“, and “file_ch2_3“
- If those are intact, you can download and install Deltarune Chapter 2
- Start Chapter 2 when ready
- Agree to continue from Chapter 1 at the starting screen
The game will continue under a condition that you’ve finished Chapter 1, when your character went to sleep in their bed.
If this condition is met and your save files are intact, then the game will continue from that point. Otherwise, the game will start from scratch, but this time following the storyline of Chapter 2.
You really don’t have to have a save file from Chapter 1 in order to play Chapter 2, so if you don’t have to stress it if you don’t have them anymore for whatever reason. That said, it’s certainly nice to have a smooth transition from one chapter to the next.
That’s all you need to know about the save file locations of Deltarune Chapter 1 and 2. If you found this guide useful, then be sure to share it with your freinds using social media links below.
