Just noticed a post in my FB stream that screams “too good to be true.” Because it is.

PS4 Play Tester Scam

How do we know it’s a scam?

  1. Facebook has since banned the accounts and
  2. The post screams fake. Let me break it down:

Why so suspicious?

First – check out the page name. Not PSN, not Playstation Network. It’s “Playstation Network.” As in, with a period at the end.

But Wait! There’s More!

They also joined Facebook 5 hours ago. I feel like Sony would have locked that down awhile ago. Say… I don’t know… Years ago when PSN launched, perhaps?

We’re Checking for Confirmation

I’m reaching out to Sony to confirm, but in the meantime, just be smart. Don’t give anyone any info they could use to steal your PSN account info, CC info, or anything else important. I know we’re all excited about the PS4, but use your head.
