The guide below has all of the steps you need to quickly complete this MKT challenge.

What are Mario Kart Tour Sidesteppers?

Sidesteppers are those crab things you see on beach courses. You might recognize from the original Mario Bros. game. They’re often green, and (surprise), they move sideways — hence the name.

You’ll find them primarily on these courses:

  • Koopa Troopa Beach
  • Cheep Cheep Lagoon

How to Take Out Sidesteppers

“Take out” in this challenge name means attack, as opposed to go out for a nice dinner. Fortunately, it’s quite easy to take out Sidesteppers, too.

All you need to do is attack them with an item or, if you don’t have an item on hand, ram them with your kart — simple as that.

It doesn’t appear you need to get all 5 in one go either, as the game keeps a count of how many you’ve destroyed.

There you have it: everything you need to do to take out 5 Sidesteppers. If you’re having troubles getting to grips with other aspects of the game, though, check out our ever-growing list of Mario Kart Tour guides, including:
