The Lightsaber is an iconic weapon in the Star Wars franchise, and you’ll use it all throughout Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The game features five different types that you’ll have access to, each with its own pros and cons. Still, there are those that truly excel, and others that are purely situational. Here’s our guide of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor best Lightsaber Stances ranked.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Lightsaber Stances Tier List
Before we talk about ranking the Lightsaber Stances, let’s discuss how you’ll unlock each of them in the campaign:
- Single Blade — Available by default.
- Double-Bladed — Unlocked early on while you’re in Coruscant Undercity.
- Dual-Wield — Unlocked in Coruscant during the Ninth Sister boss fight.
- Blaster — You’ll learn this on Jedha after completing the initial story arc. Bode Acuna will give you his firearm so you can practice.
- Crossguard — You’ll learn this at the end of the first story mission in the Shattered Moon after you defeat a Bedlam Raider named Drya Thornne.
With the above in mind, we rank the best Lightsaber Stances in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. This is based on general combat while playing on the default Jedi Knight difficulty mode. Here’s our quick list, but we go into more depth below.
- Best Stance: Double Bladed
- Mid-Tier Stances: Blaster, Crossguard, and Dual Wield
- Worst Stance: Single
Top Tier Stance: Double Bladed
We feel that Double-Bladed is the best Lightsaber Stances in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. This is due to the longer reach of the weapon, which makes it perfect when fighting larger crowds. Most of its moves are also flashy and acrobatic in nature, including a cool-looking attack chain.
The main problem is the slightly slower attack speed. There will likely be instances when your acrobatics can leave you open in the middle of animations.
Mid Tier Stances: Blaster, Crossguard, and Dual Wield
The Crossguard Stance, or two-handed, is a Kylo Ren-esque style that emphasizes heavy blows. You can easily break shields and guard meters with it, at the cost of abysmally slow attack animations.
Dual Wield, meanwhile, offers the fastest attacks, leading to a flurry of successive strikes and a lot of DPS. Its basic charged move, the Auto-Parry, does as advertised: automatically parrying all melee hits at the cost of Force while it’s active. The main problem is its low stamina/guard, making you vulnerable when taking damage or enemy fire.
The Blaster Stance is really unique and unorthodox. Unfortunately, the firearm itself isn’t particularly strong, not unless you pick up several skills or grab upgrades from Caij Bounties. At the very least, it does have a Cassidy-esque special skill called Quick Draw, as well as the defensive counter of Point Blank.
Bottom Tier Stance: Single
The above Lightsaber styles offer their own unique twists, from flashy moves that annihilate crowds to hybrid melee-range techniques. That’s why the Single Blade stance is at the bottom of our list. It’s an all-rounder pick that’s not particularly bad. It’s just that other options offer their own unique capabilities for key situations.
