Like all the best action games, Bayonetta 3 saves its toughest content for the optional challenges. One of the earliest challenging moments most players will encounter in Bayonetta 3 goes by the name of “Bite and Toss.” This optional challenge Verse can be found in the very first chapter of the game.
Bite and Toss requires you to learn how to summon Bayonetta’s Infernal Demons, which can be a bit unintuitive at first but once you have it down, it will be easy as pie.
How to Complete Bite and Toss in Chapter 1, Verse 2
Bite and Toss can be found inside the first portal to Alfheim in the game.
After entering Alfheim for the first time you are going to need to jump across a few platforms to enter the battle arena. From here a screen will pop up showing you the details and letting you choose when to start the challenge. Once you do, this one is fairly simple.
The tutorial that appears during this challenge may be what is tripping some players up. Here, it calls the attack you need to pull of Gripping Bite, instead of just calling it Bite and Toss. Know that this is the same thing and you can follow the tutorials to complete the challenge.
To complete Bite and Toss, you need to first press “ZL” to summon Gomorrah. While holding “ZL“, press the “R” button to bite and toss using the Devourer of the Divine. You can mash “R” if you so please but you actually only need to press it once per each of the three enemies. Do this 3 times and you will complete the challenge and Verse 2 of Bayonetta 3‘s first chapter.
Your reward, aside from newfound mastery of the basic game mechanics, is a piece of Broken Witch Heart, which brings you one step closer to increasing Bayonetta’s (or Violet’s) health. Collect 4 of these to make a full Witch Heart and upgrade your HP.
