Only a couple of months remain until we can freely roam the solar system and guard the last city on Earth like the warriors we all know we are! Of course I’m talking about Destiny, the game that has kept gamers on their toes for a very long time now. Bungie has been teasing us with alpha gameplay in June and now beautiful screen shots at the start of July.
Bungie Day was certainly no disappointment, offering a bunch of collectors editions which have my bank account crying out for help! You have been warned…

- Limited Edition SteelBook Case and Game Disc
- Guardian Folio containing: “Arms and Armament” Field Guide, Postcards from the Golden Age, Antique Star Chart.
- Exclusive Digital Content: Unique Ghost Casing, Player Emblem, and Player Ship Skin
- Destiny Expansion Pass: giving you access to all future missions, multiplayer arenas, upcoming weapons, armor, and gear!

- Letter of Introduction
- Golden Age Relics
- Ghost Replica. A motion-sensing ghost which will lead you through the Darkness! (Is your wallet calling to you yet?)
Sold on Amazon.
However if you’re one to misplace or scratch discs and prefer an indestructible copy, there is another option:
Digital Guardian Edition – $89.99
- Digital download of Destiny
- Early access to Vanguard Armory and Player Emblem pre-order bonus
- Reservation for first two Destiny Expansions: “The Dark Below“ (I hear this involves a dark tomb and a dark army, mysterious!), and “House of Wolves”.
- Exclusive Digital Content: Unique Ghost Casing, Player Emblem and Player Ship Skin.
Bungie has obviously been very busy creating content that allows us to truly become immersed in ‘the Golden Age’ of Destiny and the life of a Guardian. With so much choice it’s hard to decide, but the announcement of this exclusive content has ensured that the hype for Destiny remains sky high.
All of these Collectors Editions offer a beta code for the game when pre-ordered, but don’t worry, if your wallet can’t stretch that far for a collector’s edition, a simple pre-order of Destiny alone is enough to claim your beta code.
Get playing the beta from the 17th of July for PlayStation and 23rd of July for Xbox (let the uproar commence!) until the end of day on the 27th of July. There has been talk of a ‘special reward’ if you play Destiny on the 26th, so you probably should, who says no to a special reward?
“Make sure you’re present to be counted on July 26th. Not only are we hoping to leave a high watermark for population on that day, we’ll also provide a special reward to those of you who make an appearance in the Tower… or in the frontiers beyond its walls.”
